Once it was a shimmy under hard cornering. The other 5 times had no symptoms. It was only when the wheel was placed on the balancer that you could see the bend

Joe - I've got about 2200 track miles on mine. No bent wheels. Was sure I bent a wheel hitting one of the burm/drop offs at t hill west last year. Cut both the front and rear tires and even scratched the inside of my wheels. Wheels were fine. SA at my dealer told me that they don't see many bent ones on the forged GT wheels.

Bridgestone should make the RE71R's in GT3 stock rear size too - they would sell plenty...

Both Michelin and Dunlop say rims between 10" and 11" for this size (if we mean GT4 stock size 295/30/20. If you really want to use 35-series, there could be a wider range but that's a little tall, no?)...

The 295 RE71R experiment turned out to be a failure. The tread patch is 1.4" more narrow per rear tire and the car is too unstable.
A friend recommended trying out Kspec MPSC2 in the front and N spec MPSC2 in the rear. Since the Kspec are harder, the front will last longer. Also, the price is $1600 for the set from tire rack.
Ran 2 sessions at laguna seca today and got a new PB of 1:36.9. Unfortunately, the solo crapped out and won't export the data so I don't have overlay, but here is the video of the lap:

Nice driving Joe! If I don't get another GT3, I may have some Forgeline 19" wheels for sale if you want to try out the RE71R's in that size. I was going to try them next season after I wore out my next set of Trofeos, but not sure what the future holds at this point.

Great lap. Makes me want to go back out there, even on the crappy tire set up (thanks for the idea ;-) I actually like how it's a driftmobile now, I just do not look at lap times.)

No, no RS right now. Refuse to play the stupid speculation BS. I just want to sit back and smile as the prices drop below msrp in the next several months.
Keeping the GT4 until the next one come out.
Contemplating selling the GT3 in the spring or holding onto it for another year.
Put down a deposit for a .2RS 18 months ago.

Lol. Yeah, the 295 Re71r makes the car pretty loose.

Three Wheelin'
Be like me and consider an M2 or 718S. It's a challenge! I'm still holding out hope that the next GT4 will have a PDK. If not, a C8 vette with a DCT sounds pretty nice. Maybe a GT350R with a DCT. For the moment, though, very torn between an M2 and 718S. Not looking forward to upgrading front brakes on a brand new, 90k 718S. Feels more approachable on a 57k M2
