Default Pic request: Carrara White Metallic GT3s

I'm looking for a little help in a last minute color decision between White and Carrara White Metallic. Could all you lucky folks with your Carrara White Metallic GT3s please share pics of your cars? Thanks!

I was initially white, then saw a CWM cayman GTS and switched to CWM. Then I had the CWM cayman GTS in my garage and drove it for a week. I realized that after seeing the car in person for a while, it looks pretty much plain white and not worth the extra money, so I switched back. Plain white will be a brighter white, whereas CWM will have a slight gray tinge to it when in the shade.

Sounds similar to my color choice history! Here are my current thoughts on CWM:

1) CWM is less "yellow" than plain white. CWM has a slight "cold" color temperature to it. The plastic bumpers painted CWM also seem to match the body color better than plain white (the plain white bumpers never seem to match well and definitely look yellowish).

2) On the downside, CWM is "sparkly". In bright sunlight, point light sources that reflect off the car look purplish and sparkly, which doesn't look very "racecar" compared to the plain white. I assume this metallic flake will also make the paint harder to match for any respray work, though a good paint shop should be able to handle it.

My car is currently in the system as plain white. But given the better bumper matching with CWM, and the generally less "yellow" appearance, I'm tempted to switch if I can just get over the glittery appearance...

Theyare both are good choices. I think Orthojoe pretty much nailed the differences I see live.

Thanks, the car looks great! It's hard for me to tell that it's CWM in those pics. If I had to guess, I would have bet that that was regular white.

When you look at it in this light, the CWM looks better, IMO. However, it is my understanding that the new carrara white is a brighter white than the 987/997 white.

Before ordering, I looked at this a lot, both live and in pics. I believe the current regular white is just called "white" and it is not nearly as yellowish as the previous Carrera (non-metallic) white. It looks pretty neutral to me, and indeed before CWM came along, people on this forum sometimes referred to it as an "appliance" white color. To me CWM is a still colder white with gray undertones, especially in the shade. To me, in bright light they look pretty similar, with CWM having a very slightly colder tinge. In the shadows the regular white, for me, has a lot more pop, as the CWM goes slightly dull because of its grey undertones. On the other hand CWM, as with most metallics, can look more interesting in certain other light conditions such as dusk, or under flood lights or fluorescent lights. Both are very good colors for the GT3. YMMV

In the end; I do like standard white better for the GT3. Just more "pop" and racer-like. If I were to get a Cayman GTS or a Turbo - may go metallic

100% agree with this and 991 GT3 "white" is very different from Carrara White.
