Yea its not like the 991 GT3 is the last ever GT3 EVER made like they told us when we were all falling all over ourselves to get the last ever GT3 the 997, then the 997 GT3RS, then the 997.2 GT3 and so on and so on.
This is almost funny since I have had a GT3 since 2004 we went through these same thoughts every iteration. I remember a guy paying almost twice MSRP for the 997.1 GT3 RS and then Manhattan Porsche had a salesman named STEVE who came on RENNLIST and boasted they had a NEW 997 GT3 RS for 2 times MSRP and was giddy about it. Then the more advanced 997.2 came out and that GT3RS was worth less than 30K below regular MSRP.
And no matter how good the 991 GT3 is and its a DAMN good one the GT3RS will affect value as well as the 991.2 or 992

Dealer is taking out his ***. My contacts say there is nothing to this and they've heard nothing remotely intimating this.

FWIW, Dealer in the SF Bay Area told me today that production stops in Feb 15. He says he found out yesterday. He said it was now iffy if my place in line would turn into an allocation. He felt very confident he could get me a RS but had zero details on the car -- he is reading the same internet stories I am.
I checked here to see if others were getting the same story and it would appear some are. Seems more then a coincidence that two dealers in different parts of the country are saying the same thing. Of course, Porsche could always change their mind...
FWIW.2 They had a white gt3 on the lot that was spoken for but the owner was trying to resell for $25k over msrp. They figured they had two buyers already lined up.

I too had a 996.2 GT3 and have learned that no matter how badass the current metal the next round will be even better.
This is why I've never been terribly concerned about resale. With new cars over its initial 4 years these new GT3s will follow a fairly predictable downward slope. Only after warranty is up and the cars have flattened do we see how/if the enthusiast crowd props up values.

they call, but they want a premium.
sorry after close to 30 gt3, I don't pay premium.... even idiots like me learned.
if I wanted to play the premium game, I can have 20 gt3 on my front lawn in 72 hours.
it's it's Pardini, then he's cool... one of the best.
but they still want a premium...
if they discount, then have mike call me, lol

At this point I'm not holding my breath I'll get a gt3. Have to see what a RS turns out to be.

Just my 2p worth regarding some comments that have been floated.
IMO, not everyone who has a GT3 wants an GT3 RS. The RS may just be too hardcore for many, including myself. As far as values of GT3's dropping because of the RS?...IMO not really. Of course over time values will be affected, that goes for all of these cars. If anyone thinks these are investments or that they will not loose money on them, they need to think again. I do however feel that the GT3 and RS will depreciate less than the average 911.

I think every one needs to calm down. I do not necessarily think that this is the truth. I am not doubting the information conveyed but I have another source that is contradicting this info. I know; we all know some one. But, my Gt3 is being delivered this week so I have no agenda. All I am saying is we need more definitive info. Any Dealer would jump on this band wagon because it benefits them tremendously - lets just wait for more info.

I agree with Jimmy D. I also think you have to question the motives of the people involved. I am sure somewhere there is incentive to drive up MSRP or resale value. Or someone trying to get people to bail on the wait list so they can jump ahead.
