Ok ok!! I got news.

Just called Porche Middle East.

The letters from PAG just came in now!!

We will be reviewing them tomorrow from our dealers.

She couldn't tell me the details but she stated that 100 percent the letter states the engines need to be replaced.

Each customer will have to then contact their dealers and work out the details in compensation and what would make us happy

Li also asked if we want to return the car and order a new one what is the procedure.

She said that as PME we can only provide a technical solution to the problem and that returning cars or compensation is strictly between each individual and their respective dealers.

I asked what was wrong with the engines and she said she is ok technical enough to know but the letter explains that new engines are going to be sent out and that they are moving as quickly as possible to have those built an delivered.

Ball is rolling now!

If compensation is purely dealer's discretion, we're not getting much. They will view it (and rightly so...) as Porsche's liability--why should they cough up compensation when they can likely sell the car (if rejected) to a list of willing buyers at MSRP?

...unless there is trunk money or some sort of secret compensation allowance that each dealer has been given?

^^crazy, right?!?!

Only if dealers have a secret pot for compensation do I see anything for the average buyer.

dealers are the biggest crooks in the world, they will make you go in circles before they even let you see a penny. Like I said, let the games begin....best option right now is hire lawyers ASAP.

Any chance that the "remedy" (in terms of individually negotiated comp) differs from region to region?

It could. Again this was from porsche Middle East and might not apply to all regions. The letter will state what the next step to take is as I understood

Got a call from my dealer. The engines are being replaced on all cars. Some problem with the rods.

No info on the schedule.

Luckily, if it comes to the dealership aspect being the mitigating factor, I'll be admittedly lucky in this scenario...but I really feel for you guys who don't have a long history or friendship with the owners and staff if **** hits the fan...I can't imagine Porsche would hang the customers out to dry that much...I'd have another moment of faith for Porsche to be a little more forthcoming and suggest a solution...but wow does this sound incredibly odd or what??
