Talked to PCNA today. They stated everything that has already been confirmed on this thread. The CSR offered a loaner and that someone would contact me this week. My car is to arrive in the port of San Diego tomorrow. Has anyone had luck trading the use of a loaner for Porsche Sport Driving School? I have attended before, and would like to attend the Masters Course. I'd take school and hold off selling my 991 C2S for a bit instead of using a loaner. Or if the whole thing goes south how about a turbo deeply discounted? Still I'd rather have a GT3 than a turbo, but if it's a bottom end issue, I'd be a little nervous. The longer this drags out the more doubts I have. My 991 C2S has been rock solid. I've owned 4 P cars, hopefully I'd have some leverage for perks.

Did you call them or did they call you? And were they aware that your car was due at port tomorrow?

HB, Depreciation on Turbo is pretty high (had 2) . GT3 situation will be resolved soon. I can understand the frustration from current owners more than us. Just hold on to the C2S until the car situation is resolved. We just need to be patient.

I am surprised they are offering a loaner. You have not purchased the car. If you take the loaner, does that hook you into taking the car after repairs? My guess it would not.

HB, I doubt it too. I think the customer service agent possibly a RCG didn't know what they are talking about. If you don't have a car on hand probably no loaner.I could be wrong though.

I suppose as a matter of good will they should offer us a car given the inconvenience and uncertainty as to when or if we get our cars.

I'll let you know what they say when they call about the loaner.

I'm not that frustrated. I couldn't even imagine the frustration of actually having my car at the dealer or parked in my garage.

Just trying to time the sale of my CS2. I have somebody that wants to look at it. Just not sure if I want to let it go now. Plus if local dealers have some preowned, from the loaners etc. This could hurt the market a bit in resale. Not saying it will but... I've got several dealers close to home. Pacific Porsche has/had 8 GT3s. Not sure how many the other dealers had in the LA area. But I can name 6 dealers in a 35 radius of me.

Default Porsche probably will redesign

a new engine for the GT3 or offer a full refund. Short of a refund, redesigning the engine is their only viable option especially if the present engine problems are related to connecting rod assembly. To tear apart and reassemble the present engines would not makes sense given the circumstances.

If they do redesign the engine it would need to be retested. This could take several weeks or months. At the earliest these cars may be back on the road in late June or early July.

Replacing the engine would make a lot of sense OR REFUND money and build the NEW GT3 for 2015.
