Yep Jenks is right...the move with track tires will be to Hoosier R6 and I would say Pirelli Trofeo 19".

Perfect a car Rad can drive in the Walmart parking lot thru cones

no shifting, tons of electronic crap to overide and make teh car less relaible / faster for his 30 second cone dodging exercise

looks like a fantastic street car with race car roots......just like the current one

Brembo works closely with VW on brakes development. If the front rotors are 405mm, and with the bigger calipers, 19" wheels will not fit. Brembo also has 392mm, 394mm and 398mm rotors in addition to the 380mm rotors used in the 997.2 GT3. These three sizes under 400mm will work with 19" wheels.

18" wheels are history, no way to clear those brakes with 18" wheels.

A new motorsport engine (not a Mezger, not a 9A1 either) is the clear explanation on why there is no manual transmission. A new engine would require development of new transmissions, they chose wisely, as this engine will be use in motorsports and the transmissions in motorsports are not manually moved stir cooking paddles.

and those marvelous centerlocks... Too bad. I guess Porsche didn't want to abandon them and by their actions admit the mistake.

Hope the ClubSport package will be available in the States as well, or if the price is as rumoured $ 140k base make it part of the base

Pretty good r-comp recent addition.

It is the main reason the Mercedes C63-BS was able to match the Laguna Seca lap time by the SLS, despite of the C63 being near 300 lbs heavier, and not as powerful. The bone stock C63-BS lapped in 1:38, at near 4,100 lbs of weight before driver.

Nice car, built for yanks though while we poor europeans mourn our Mezger Engines and Manual boxes. Still, we mourned the move from aircooled as well. Life goes on !
Very impressed with the specs of the new engine.

HOLY MOLY, that would be the biggest new yet! Well, not really, but it's encouraging. I test drove a 991s with PDK the other day and the direction bothered me, as well as the weird buttons on steering wheel. Damn the changes were fast though.

This GT3 is going to be fantastic.

Wow. Great news that puts almost all of the doom and gloom predictions in their place. Thanks to the RL'er who got the info and to John for posting it. I agree, John, you must post the video.
