GT3 Oil Filter Tool
Good new for those looking fo a GT3 oil filter tool.
Hazet have release the 2169-10 shortened tool.
As those that have tried the original 2169 have found, its too long to fit in the small space available on the GT3.
The 2169-10 is factory shortened to fit in smaller spaces.
Otherwise its exactly the same as the original 2169
Found some at Amazon Germany and Ebay.

You can see whomever modified it (Porsche ?) engraved their own part number on it.
Will measure the 2169-10, but should be about the same as yours, just direct from Hazet.
Original 2169 looks like the picture I posted above and the longer tool in the video
At only around 16 Euro ($18 before shipping) for the 2169-10 its probably a lot cheaper than from Porsche

Strange then... got it from Porsche parts and that's a porsche part number on it. Looks to unmodified (ie not machined after casting). Maybe when they made them for porsche and didn't change the Hazet part number they realized they needed to.
Either way, it appears the porsche tool is the same as the Hazet -10.
Thanks!

Only difference is 2169-10 engraved on it instead of Porsche part number.
Both probably from Hazet factory.
How much was yours from Porsche?
Here they wont sell you one.

$55. And that is the same price from other vendors on amazon.

So should hopefully be cheaper for other members if they get them from Ebay, Amazon Germany or UK.

There is little room on a GT3 for this tool and a simple band clamp works better at a fraction of the price. I have a selection of Hazet tools which work great on other 911's.

I agree on the band clamp. It is easier than trying to get the Hazet tool on and off.

Just bought the longer 2169 for my GT4 last week. Is there a photo available of the GT3 filter location to see why the shortened version is necessary on the GT3? Now I wish I had bought the short version instead - I assume it would work on both cars?

BTW, I've bought a bunch of German tools from this place and they are reliable and competitively priced - $31.28 for 2169-10 (but special order takes 6 weeks):

This place is also good, couple bucks more ($35.36) but might have in stock:

The band works, but not for those that want to torque the filter back at precise factory specs

Since I found it impossible to get a ratchet into the tool once it was in place on the filter, I don't know how one would be able to use a torque wrench anyway.

A crowfoot correctly placed on a torque wrench can usually be used to torque the filter back on using the hex head.
Just make sure the crowfoot is placed the correct way for the type of torque wrench or it will increase the torque provided
