Hi Guys,

I am new in this forum and recently bought 991-GT3 and would love to bring it to test drive in Autobahn Track or any other tracks around IL area. One that was recommended by my dealer is Hooked on Driving. However that dont start until Oct 2016. Do you have any other recommendation to bring my Gt3 to track sooner and least expensive ?

There is also a Windy City BMW event on 5/21 and 5/22. I will be attending that one. Not sure if I will be driving my M3 or GT3 but I believe you can drive whatever car you like. Link is as follows;

Join the PCA. Our Chicago region runs great events (DEs and AutoX) at some of the best facilities in the Midwest; including the Autobahn, Blackhawk, Road America and Gingerman.

The First Blackhawk event (May 13) is typically "Novice Day" and the club used to do a great extra day for Novices at Road America the Friday before Memorial Day weekend.

As mentioned before, Laps puts on a great program. My wife even did an event there and I've encourage several non-Porsche owners to attend Laps.

Congrats on the new 991 GT3 Cktan!

We attend a lot of different Chicago-land local track events. We'll be present at some of the events with our different BMW M and Porsche track cars.

If you are looking for a smaller event to test out the GT3, check out www.GPSTrackTime.com. They have an event at Autobahn North on the first weekend of April. We'll be there doing some baseline testing on a new chassis setup for our E46 M3.

There are other events with MVP Track Time at Autobahn and Road America where we'll be testing our 981 Cayman. www.mvptracktime.com

As others have mentioned, PCA, Laps Inc, BadgerBimmer, all have great events.

Feel free to shoot me a PM if you'd like. It would be great if we can coordinate track schedules and cause some trouble together. If you need any help with the car, never hesitate to ask.

Try CGI motorsports, they rent Gingerman on Mondays. Small run groups, good drivers, inexpensive.

Congrats on the new GT3, it's an amazing car on and off the track! As many have said, you have plenty of great local choices to choose from. The most important thing to remember when choosing a group to run with is, to be sure that the group you choose offers classroom and a very solid instruction/instructor program. MOST mentioned above are very good and competent in offering you what you need to enjoy and continue to enjoy the sport for a very long time. Without the proper foundation, and skill set its hard to advance safely and not make expensive mistakes.

We offer beginner, intermediate, advanced run groups, and our instruction program is second to none. From beginner to advanced pro level (scheduled in advanced) instruction available at all events. We offer 8 track days through out the 2016 season. Our schedule and a link to our website is below.
