997.1 GT3RS vs 991 GT3
I posted this question in the 997 GT3 forum as well but wanted to get a perspective from the 991 GT3 forum as well.
I've been offered a straight swap for my 2007 GT3RS for a 2016 991 GT3, what would this forums view on this?
All opinions welcome

Wow, tough call you have to make, but an enjoyable one. I guess a few things come into play here. Miles on the RS, condition, tracked or not, options, colour etc..... Is the 2016 GT3 brand new? Straight up, I would take the 2016.

It depends on what type of experience you want. Either mechanical/analog involvement go for the 997.1RS. If you looking for eye watering, finger blistering (from pushing the shift button) speed to conquer the tracks go for the 991 GT3.
997.1RS any day, the 991.1gt3 will get hammered on price long term and viewed as the ugly duckling with its engine woes. Alot of people will dump the 2014/2015 991GT3 as soon as the warranty period is up, no question about that. Do not know how that would effect the 2016 though.

I would never make that trade. The 997.1 GT3 RS is a keeper. Classic good looks, analog feel with six speed, no PSM (only ABS, and TC), and the incredible Mezger engine. You need big ***** to drive one fast, since nothing is going to save your rear end (pun intended).

Are you a collector, or a driver, or both? Have you driven both cars? Is value your chief concern? Performance? Comfort?
Both cars are fun. I find both cars involving to drive, though obviously different. It's a subjective question unless you are concerned only with numbers. All else being equal, you need to choose based on which one you 'love' more.

I would not do it.
I still find it hard to believe that it has come to this, but it is clear now that a car such as the 997 GT3RS will never be made again.
