He has the right to do whatever he wants to his money. But I think I need an aspirin after this.

For your information . The gentleman in question is a good friend of mine .
He tracks all his cars , 918 , gto etc etc . This certainly won't be a garage queen . He liked the idea of a bright orange but was disappointed with lava so with Porsche uk they came up with this fantastic project. It's the same Porsche centre that does Eric Claptons cars [he too picks non standard colours and often goes through the same process] and the work is fully warranted by Porsche . The colour he wanted is many layered and looks incredible , pts could not do this colour . He worked with a friend and world class designer [one of the designers of the 599 gto] to come up with the graphics and design .The 2 graphics either side of the car was to make a choice , the car will be a keeper and he wants it just how he wants it . To be commended and a fantastic , brave project if you ask me .

The best orange paint are Lamborghini arancio atlas and borealis. I have yet to see any other orange (especially burnt orange) that looks better.

Porsche's 997.1 gt3rs orange is an excellent Porsche orange color. I don't like burnt orange much but it is his car.

Colour is a very personal thing , not a very charitable opinion regarding taste for a fellow enthusiast and someone you don't even know .

Plasti dip would not have given you this effect , the colour really needs to be seen to be believed . It's like a modern , metallic blut orange combined with a violent orange and looks absolutely gorgeous .

Not bored at all , just a true enthusiast that wanted a dream car to be exactly how he wants it to be . Sure;y that talks to the enthusiast in all of us ?

Personally, I think the color looks pretty awesome! This is what a true PTS option should be. Bring us a color and we'll make it happen. It's like the old Sunderwunch program that used to be. Porsche used to let you do almost anything if you were willing to pay for it. I have a feeling this is the type of color that absolutely needs to be seen to be appreciative. Good on him for making the car exactly how he wanted!

Don't be a hater....

It's unfortunate that Porsche isn't as flexible as some of the other manufacturers when it comes customization.

Wow, I'd be worried that it would be put together and there'd be a rattle!
But I think this is awesome!

Could have wrapped it, but no lets strip it and paint it. I would have liked to stand there when he told the shop that :-)

Everyone flipping out about Porsche PTS PITA procedure and limitations and this guy has the money and will to just paint his in whatever color he wants and has a unique RS with a better paint job than any oem Porsche! And shares the paint job on line.

to the owner.

My sentiments exactly , the colour is stunning.'the car went there straight from factory without even being registered . Porsche have really been great with this , the enthusiasm and excitement are infectious

If it was a specialized Porsche shop/dealer who did this great color in this unique color, then not much to worry about. I'd say a "10" for total uniqueness!

Thanks for sharing!

Drive safe,
