This car could be a start of a new chapter for Porsche motorsport racing and brand, if everything is executed well. Very exciting. I want one!

I think the new chapter will be in 2017 when they switch to mid-engined for the WEC. This is just part of selling that evolving story of switching away from the 911 I suspect.

Nothing new here that hasn't been around in the aftermarket for years.

I agree that it's something that can be done aftermarket just as well, but would you ski if you had to make your own skis and boots? Many people would not. Given right execution, this can be a great gateway into racing for many who do not want to deal with the hassle of developing a competitive and dependable race car and other issues like resale, etc.
