Are you talking about the racecar 911 GT3 R or the yet to be announced 911R?

911R

While the free breathing, naturally aspirated 4.0-liter motor fitted to the current Porsche 911 GT3 RS has some potential for evolution, it will eventually be superseded by an even brawnier, lightweight Mk II engine, but without forced induction. The lightweight, no-frills Porsche 911R scheduled to appear in limited quantity next year will have a naturally aspirated 450-hp engine, which is further proof that the classic Porsche flat-six has a future in Stuttgart. There is also a lot of life still left in the current 3.8-liter flat-six installed in the 911 Turbo, as the forthcoming, 600-hp Porsche 911 Turbo will demonstrate.

I know ..less weight and manual gear and a very basic cockpit (something close to what Ferrari makes for his Scuderias) would be wonderful...But if the rumors are correct about the 450 hp, to have the same weight/power ratio of the new Rs, this car should weight 1.287 kg compared to about the 1.420 of the RS. Since at the end the performances are important for me ( a combination of strong engine and low weight of course) and since there is no way that this R version will loose about 130 kg over the RS..I am worried that at the end this car will be nice of course but not enough for my plans. And probably will cost more than the RS too. I was thinking to switch my RS order with this one, but the rumors are not enough promising by my personal point of view ..
For the same reasons I would immediately book a special RS stripped version even if not manual and with just few extra horses.., and leave my booked car to someone else...If it would be ever available...

I think they will drop. RWS, PDK. Smaller wheels and tires. Lighter doors.
Lighter exhaust. Narrower body shell may be. AC and PCM delete. Lighter battery. reduce 100KG or so is not that hard.

600 BHP Turbo or Turbo S.

A GT3R should have only 10 or so options. Radio or Radio Delete, AC or AC Delete. Bucket's or 18 way seats for us big folk with bad backs. Fire distinguisher standard and with a lift option. Keep it simple with three or four exterior colors with just steal rotors. It would be the discount GT3 with no carpeting like with what Ferrari has done with some model's and finally a Frigen 7 Speed Sport's model manual with a 7th gear made for the track and not for saving gas on the highway. But everyone know's it won't be no where close to this description. Just keep this model as simple as possible. What's the point of only 450BHP when the regular GT3 comes with 475BHP? Oh and an exterior shut off switch that has been discussed recently with the European whatever Roll Bar package they call it that we don't get in the states. If it did it would drive up insurance prices just due to the presence and the companies would argue that you're going racing. Emerica got to love it.

You got it! Keep the 500 ponies and PDK. Just make it lighter and less comfy.

I don't know, this car is not giving me the "I want this car" itch like the 991 GT3/RS and GT4 did. Seems like the non-luxury version of a 911 GTS. If I want to drive a manual I can either hop in the .2RS or the GT4. I'll pass on the 991 GT.

All praying for a manual raw car
looking the past

no pdk
no rws
no pasm
no here no there

and pretend that can manage more than 450 HP

i think 450HP for a retro nostalgic project
is more than enough and consisten
with the whole project

it might be an istant classic
but only if they provide only
motorsport like components
not that crappy 7 manual from 991 base

a modern Singer..
but sadly VW idiots will marketing as
usual the bull**** for mega profits
let s see how far they can see...
