Default Brakes too noisy

Is it normal that my steel brakes are too noisy when stopping and about to stop?
It's irritating because when it is a slow stop it's a long squeaking sound. So I tend to want to brake hard.

Any problem you think?

Normal. Do a track day and it will fix it.

I am planning a 700 mile road trip this weekend. Hope that fixes it.

Do a hard stop from 75 mph (perhaps on a straight exit from the highway) and your brakes should stop squeaking for a while.

I wish they made more noise - I view them as an alert system to the driver behind you that is probably texting on their cell phone. Much better to make some noise and wake people up around here than be silent and get rear-ended.

Definitely a more regular application of heavier, harder braking (bedding the pads and keeping them as such) should help. They will always make some noise.

I doubt the road trip will fix it. You need to do several 80 mph to 20 mph stops quickly like you were bedding in your brakes.

I will try that. Usually when my brakes are squeeking it means my pads need changing. Doubt that, i have less than 300 miles on my ODO.

Mine squeal when they're warm, but quiet when they're cold.

I had this issue until I had around 1500 miles. As noted it is normal and a few braking cycles from 80 - 20 will help. However, it will return until you have some miles.

They have been noisey on all of the ones I have sold... One client has about 1000 miles on it and it is driving him nuts. May trade out of the car...

I noticed repeated sudden stops may prevent hearing it, but I hardly heard it after long stretches of road. The car just needs to be driven and get out of this brake in period.

Man this car is really comfy. My 997.2 C4s did not drive like this. I somewhat think it is as comfortable as my F430 before.
