Acceleration comparison
Watching Chris Harris' original GT3 review and comparing it to this one...he seemed so much more enthusiastic and surprised. Probably because it was such a departure and so quick. I was hoping for more I guess. I can't wait for the GT3 vs RS videos. It has to happen at some point.
For the time being we only have the two accelerations to compare
Could they have the same straight line performance? Could the bigger wheels and the added downforce affect the RS Power advantage? Other comparisons will prove if this video is valid.

^ I wouldn't be surprised if they're close in a straight line. Torque and hp of RS is only about 5% more, RS is less than 1.5% lighter, GT3 has less aero drag, and then there's the gearing aspect.
On a circuit, RS has more grip due to the wider tires, wider track, and more aero downforce, but is 'only' ~1.5% faster as far as lap time, so the gain in cornering speed is apparently only incremental.
IMO, you get the RS over the GT3 because you can comfortably afford it and it's the best streetable track car Porsche offers, not because you expect it to be significantly faster or more robust on track than the GT3. Bigger wing is also sufficient justification to get the RS.

I do agree, the difference is not major. But in this specific test, if you watch the original video, the RS stalled in 1st gear for about a second due to spin.. You need to compare the cars in same conditions.

The aero drag is not a big factor until speeds get pretty high. I would expect the RS to be noticeably quicker 0-100 mph. But this is not the main attraction of either car to me - it's at the track where the bigger rubber, wider track, and additional downforce of the RS (to go with the additional 5% shove at all revs) should result in quicker laps at every circuit.
