may be he was expecting the gap is like between c2s and GT3.
But gt3 is already so good. to get the last 10% isn't as easy as form c2s to gt3.
But I think RS will be at least around 1 second faster on a 1:20-2:00 track.
Gt3 is already fast. It's faster than 458 with hossier R6, 0.5-1sec slower than 991 turbo s with Cup2 and modified GTR on Hoosier R7. the driver is advanced level but first time drive GT3 on track. He has a 7.2 RS with cup wing Hossier R7. And 991 gt3 is faster stock.

I'm getting the sense that, if cost wasn't a factor, I'd take the RS over the GT3, though I like the cleaner look of the GT3 better. Factoring in cost, the GT3 still seems a better value than the RS, and the GT4 an even better value. But for track guys who're comfortable with tracking an almost $200K car, I bet you'll all be very happy with the car!

I totally agree that the gt3 looks a lot better. But add the fact that this is the first RS that is a great DD! Sales will be thru the roof in this economy. Less RS will see the track!

The LWB are very comfortable. Or sofa seats even more comfy.
Order front lift and you can drive it without issue in San Fran/ NY
Get Nav/speakers for longer trips!
It might be the best multi purpose car ever built but a little less RS?

Exactly, my wife can go to Publix, I can go to the track and work, its really a utility vehicle for the depreciation savvy.

I don't know about the value going up, but I can see it depreciating less than the GT3 if kept in good shape and not a ton of track miles.

If I didn't like the racy looks and bespoke construction of the RS body parts, I would stick with my GT3. Different strokes for different folks I guess...if for some reason I am denied a build, I will be happy with my GT3...

I think so. GT3 is already amazing in that regard, and RS will be even more so. But if someone isn't going to track them, I don't see much point in getting either of them, since they need to be wound up so much on the road to come alive (which is still quantum levels below what they do on the track). I think of them as cars that comfortably trailer themselves to/from the track, and kick serious *** at the track, with the only road vs track adjustment being tire pressures and a few buttons. Blows my mind ...

Agree, the deterrent for me that is doing a lot of track days with the RS means either paying a small fortune for track insurance and/or self-insuring against a loss which would be a huge bummer. Of course, I didn't want to spend more than $100K for a frequently-used track car, and I blew that with the GT3, but I couldn't resist ... and wife said 'just buy the damn car'.

I do track insurance, always have with all RS. Good for a second a lap
My wife says "just buy the damn car as long as you please stop yacking about it."

No kidding! The elevation changes were great. The scenery a little distracting though!
