Default Do PCCBs screech ??

Guys there is a low intensity screeching noise from the PCCBs almost every time I brake( more so when braking gently in traffic ). Visited the service centre and the supervisor said it is 'normal' in ceramics. Is it really gonna be like this... please help

It feels disgusting for a beautiful car to screech like old toyotas on road..

It's an inherited problem with all Porsche brakes. Mostly 911/my spyder had it too. I've had it with PCCBs and steel brakes. It's part of the experience.
Strangly my wife'S Macan doesn't do that

My PCCB's don't squeal at all. Totally silent.

Mine didn't until I tracked the car (991TTS), then they were screeching frequently.

I have PCCB by default.

I actually enjoy the noise like my E92M3 BBK with race pads when cold. I got the GT3 primarily for track duty and not as a DD.

Mine haven't made any noise at all and they've been tracked too. Same for the other two we tracked.

I have standard brakes and the scream like hell. My R8 also had that problem. It is what it is. It is a high performance car. But the brakes work phenomenal and that is more important

I found that several panic stops in a row can help with the problem. I was told by a tech that sometimes brake dust builds up and causes the sound. By performing the successive panic stops it breaks the accumulated brake dust loose. Worked for me.

I wonder if screeching or not is dependent on how your break your new pads/rotors in ?

The Master Mechanic at my Dealer told me to ride to brakes a little on the HWY to glaze them. Really do not understand what they mean. My experience is they do get better over time

Just keep driving. Porsche brakes do squeal, even the steel ones. I like the sound, part of the experience. Just drive it hard, and sound will go away eventually.

Okay.. gud to know I m not the only one with the 'problem' if I may call it.
And yes the technician said it was due to dust.
I just hope it vanishes as it is kinda spoiling the fun.

No experience with the previous generations of PCCB's but these current ones don't squeal at all. Based on my experience excessive screeching doesn't seem normal. Also, my PCCB's make almost no dust at all, yet your tech says the screeching is caused by it. Odd...

The PCCBs on my 997.2 GT3 (which was not tracked) screeched very occasionally, and one or two hard stops always cleared it; the PCCBs on my 2012 Cayenne TT never screech except if my wife drives the cars for several days; the PCCBs on my 991 TT (waiting for delivery on a GT3) have never screeched and the car has been tracked - I am fairly certain that these PCCBs are identical to the 991 GT3.

I did noticed that the PCCBs on the Turbo did darken slightly after track use but no wear can be send (OEM pads).

I thought part of the whole deal with PCCB was no screeching at all... interesting
