GT4 Rumors
First the turbo rumors, now this:

I hate spreading rumours, but I will share what I heard recently (this was being said very openly where I was by some porsche people) - the HP will be north of 400, and naturally aspirated.
I think at 400, its plenty. I think at 380, its plenty, if there is good weight reduction and fast shifts. As a GT4 it really just needs to keep up in the straights, as the cayman is already a genius in the corners.

I hope your numbers are on. My biggest car regret was selling by '04 GT3. The only electronics were ABS. Light and a great handling car. It was a true driver's car. I hope that this car is close to that concept or I am keeping the Spyder.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again...as aggressive as that suspension, brake (both iron and PCCB), and tire (look at those rears!) package is, I expect there will be some serious oomph behind it. There would otherwise be no need if only a 10% power increase over the Cayman GTS...its chassis would be fine as-is with a bump from 340 to 380.

I'm of the belief that the GT4 will be in the 375-380HP range from a naturally aspirated 3.6L motor. Initially that was somewhat of a disappointment. That disappointment was mitigated a bit by hearing that PDK-S, a version of rear-wheel-steering, the suspension, and the GT3 brakes will be either part of the car or an option... These same options allow the GT3 to hit way above its HP number in terms of what it can do when driven near the limit. If the same tricks apply with the Cayman GT4, it may have 375HP but it would be just as capable as cars with much more power... Heck, even without these bells a whistles the GTS takes out a fair number of higher powered rivals.
For me I would still say the jury is still out on the GT4. I do expect it will break cover at Geneva next year and that it will go on sale in the summer / early fall of next year as a 2016 model. Right now there are too many rumors flying around to really know what to believe, but I'm certainly going to keep my deposit in and hold my place in line until the 'officially official' word comes out from the Mothership!

I think it's safe to say everything GT4 related is still rumor but from what I'm hearing outside of the various forums, and what I'm reading from others on the forums, some rumors are more consistent than others. I'm sure there will be some disagreement, but what seems to be stated the most by folks with "contacts" is the following... (As a disclaimer, I do know that just because something is posted on the Internet, it doesn't mean it's true. 
)

- MT as standard, PDK-S as option.
- Some flavor of rear-wheel steering.
- Suspension options to go between "get me to work" and "get me around this track" similar to GT3.
- Steering setup similar to GT3.
- 5 lug or CL wheels.
- Teasers in February.
- Reveal at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show.
- On the streets in the US by mid-to-late summer of 2015 as a 2016 model.
- Price somewhere between 85k-95k USD.
Again, with the disclaimer that everything is rumor until the Mothership drops some fact bombs, take it all with a grain or two of salt!

The turbo motors are much better at adjusting power up if you have good fuel. Put 10 gallons of 101 octane from the track into a turbo motor rated for 380HP and it'll make 380HP on a dyno at the wheels. An NA motor doesn't do that.
But for everyday driving on California 91 you'll just get a lot more torque. Maybe 30% more.
