Castrol syntec 10w-40 is what I recommend & change it the week before the track event. Get the FVD billet oil pan with X-51 style oil baffle. It is 1 inch (25mm) lower than the stock pan & holds 1.5 litres more oil. When pouring in the new oil use the same number of quarts as you used in the past. Start car check oil gauge on dash, check for leaks drive car easy until engine temp gets to operating temp. Return home driving easy, park car & turn off engine. Allow car to cool down for 30 minutes. Now recheck oil level & slowly add oil. You want to maintain level at the middle of the gauge not full. With the deep sump pan you still have as much oil as stock so you can lower the oil level away from the AOS to prevent oil being sucked up into the AOS.
You probably need to check your info on this (http://www.fvd.de/us/en/Porsche-0/Boxster_987-16-42/-/2005/item/item_details/VID_503910-VCD_95427878-gid_0-sort_4-display_50-item_FVD20798801/FVD20798801_Oil_pan__FVD_Motorsport.html).
The FVD pan does indeed have a similar X51 design, but only holds an extra 0.6L of oil (or 3/4 at), so you better hope the design of the baffles works (there's a fluid mechanics expert on planet-9 who can't see why it would offer significant improvement over the stock pan baffles). You may want to consider the Mantis 2nd Gen 1.2L deep sump, which adds same additional inch to the existing sump height. Or look at the LN engineering option which incorporates the horizontal windage tray design of the mantis and the X51/FVD horizontal baffles, plus adds close to 2L additional oil. If your car is lowered, the LN option really needs to have their built guard to protect bottom outs. I would say the LN option is likely the best for a mostly track car, Mantis for street with some track use.
Good luck.

Default Deep Sump Data

FYI, on oil pressure data. One lap of Toronto Indy. The two low spots are at the 2 slowest corners, low revs. Mantis actually races their products, most others are copies of.

At last!!! Some actual data, instead of talk! Thank you! Can you give further detail on speeds etc? This chart shows low lateral G's, not the levels where engines have gone boom, so would love to see more detail on hard, fast left handers with higher lateral G's to really confirm that this is working.
This is on a 1st gen 987 car? Suspension upgrade? R-comps?
What other oiling mods?

If this is the only oiling mod (other than AOS which is a different issue) on the car, and you have more detail then it might just have sold me on my long debated and researched purchase - in the Mantis direction of course!

Please the "G" readings are in 1st gear. The data is from the Toronto Indy race, full race setup, ON SLICKS, MANTIS Cayman. We actually came in 2nd place splitting the Realtime Factory Acura team, so it aint slow.
