Default New Cayman S

Hello Rennlist!

Yesterday, I traded-in my 2011 M3 sedan (M-DCT) on a new '14 Cayman S (manual) at Walter's in Riverside, CA.
They gave me a FANTASTIC deal and over-valued my trade which made the whole transaction painless and easy.
The new car is absolutely gorgeous in-person and I like it much better than my past '99 996 (manual, coupe) and '04 986-S (manual).
It even sounds better than any of my previous P cars!

2014 Porsche Cayman S
FACTORY OPTIONS:
N0 - Agate Grey Metallic
AJ - Sport seats Plus in Black leather
P04 - Sport Seats Plus
840 - SportDesign steering wheel
658 - Power Steering Plus

423 - 20-inch Carrera S wheels

Beautiful. I keep going back and forth on the carrera classics vs carrera wheels. I think these look best when done in platinum. Lovely.

I love it, I saw the same car on tues. in Connecticut. same colors & wheels, except it had PDK & sport exhaust, tempting. I'm waiting to find out what the dealer offers me on my trade (2012 370Z NISMO). I see you are going from a dual clutch to a manual, how is the M3 in dual clutch? I'm curious which tranny u would recommend in the M3 because I'm considering a 2013 in frozen blue manual that my local dealer has. Any input would be greatly appreciated. BTW, Congrats!

I would only consider the E90 series M3 with an M-DCT, for an E46 or E36, I would only consider a manual. I've had about two dozen cars in my driving "career" and only two have not had three pedals in them. I really dislike automatics, they drive me crazy. The M-DCT is quite good and the current BMW manuals are slow, rubbery and generally terrible, otherwise I would have never considered M-DCT. That said, part of the reason I bought the new Cayman S is because as good as the M-DCT is, I still missed heel&toeing through life.

Anyone know how to disable the downshift auto-blip when is Sport-Plus mode with a manual Cayman?

Awesome color combination, congrats!
Good to see they worked with you at Walter's...when I looked at trading in my 996TT...they were terrible.
Hope to see your Cayman over at Cars&Coffee.

I'll be there! This will be my first time, I know where it is, but what's the best time to arrive/park? Is there a particular area I should go to for new cars, or Porsches? Help a brother out!

It can't be disabled unfortunately. If you don't want it, you'll need to just use regular or sport mode.

nice car - I almost bought a non-S in that exact color with those exact wheels - ended up with a silver one (not S).

Sorry to go off topic a bit, but I am looking at buying a E93 M3 convertible with M-DCT. After seeing two being dropped so quickly, I would like to know what you didn't like about the M3? I am moving back to Bay Area an want a convertible to go with my 951 project car. Any major issues? Feel free to PM me, thanks!
