Default 981 Spyder ECU recall for reflash

Anybody else get the recall notice from Porsche? Anyone have any idea why there would be a recall for an ECU reflash?

Haven't heard about that, but it slightly terrifies me. Have never been able to believe the Spyder sounds like it does on a factory exhaust, and worry that it might come back from the reflash quieter!

I did have a weird message in the dash a few weeks ago after not driving the car for a while. While backing out of the garage. Heated sterringwheel error, and electric steering error. Message went away instantly and hasn't returned. Odd. Car runs fine.

Out of town at moment. Will check upon return. Will also call dealership and inquire--will let all know what they say. Odd that no one else has gotten one.

Go to this Porsche site: https://recall.porsche.com/prod/pag/...f/VIN?ReadForm

and enter your VIN. It will tell you if you have a recall outstanding. Ran my VIN and all is A.O.K.

My cars are at the shop so much I think they may have done it already if it was necessary. isn't that kind of normal nowadays? or is it different with Porsches?

Interestingly, I just ran my VIN (thanks for that) and it says no open recalls. Have to call SA tomorrow. Will report back...
