Porsche has offered deviating carpet color as an option for many years - it just needs to be specified by the customer. Although I like my spyder's interior I actually wish the original owner requested black carpets; I'm confident he did as well judging by the fact that mine came with charcoal floor mats installed & never used red mats in the trunk.

Still miss my old 993 C4S with the boxster red / black interior....

Congrats to the OP and welcome to the club. Well optioned 987 spyder's are keepers in my humble opinion. Enjoy your beauty safely for years to come.

What do you guys use for oil? I can't seem to find any of the three weights listed in the book locally.

Mobil 1
5w50 is one of the choices in the manual and should be available at most locations.

Motul 8100 X-cess is great oil but it's not anywhere on store shelves that I've seen you can get on Amazon now I use Mobil one as it's easy to obtain.

I also use Motul, engine seems to run quieter with it over the Mobil 1
