Signs of repair

Signs of repair
I've posted ad nauseum on paranoia about my CPO'd 981 bs, so bear with me, but following up on a previous question, is the following a sign of repair?
At the front of the rear left and right wheel arches where the bottom and shoulder panels are joined, there is a large discrepancy in the amount of plaster/binding material applied at the joints, with more on the left. The color on the left inside wheel arch is also lighter. I've checked a couple other 981's, and none seems to have as much plaster as in the second picture below.
The car, itself, has a history of a rear left flat tire that had to be entirely replaced, and the camber's a bit off on the left. I'm thinking it was t-boned on the left, but could it be that it came this way from the factory? Thanks, as always.

Take a picture of the area further behind. I have no idea where that is. Looked everywhere at the rear with a flashlight, and nothing like that. It doesn't look factory to me, but could be. I had the inner wheel covers off when I had to clean fresh tar all over my car, and don't remember seeing anything like your picture. And yes, my car was bought right off the truck. At any rate, I'd just take the car to a reputable alignment shop, and if it aligns perfectly, with 0.00% thrust angle, your car is fine. Good luck.

Circled below. After checking other 981's, the right side looks about normal, but the left definitely looks patched (hard to believe they could be this inconsistent at the factory).

So what are you worried about? Loss of value? If it has had slight damage and you have to operate on it to find it, it's probably nothing to stress about! Are you happy with the car? does it "look" right? if so, quit stressing and enjoy your car!

Have you seen how this sealant is applied?
In this video you can see how it is applied for the 991 and the 981:
Go to 4:48, not the cleanest of applications. More like squirted on goo!
I think your car is fine.

With the CPO warranty, you should be fine. They can't CPO a car with significant issues.
If in doubt, take it to a trusted mechanic for a thorough evaluation. (which is what the CPO inspection entails)

Yeah, I don't think this is typical. Either the damage was insignificant, the dealer hid it well, or the PPI was pretty lackluster. Nothing I can do at this point though...

While they can't CPO a car with significant issues I have seen Porsche CPOs that have had accidents listed in their Carfax reports.
If you suspect it was in an accident and bodywork was performed then a paint meter could detect signs of a repaint helping to confirm your suspicions. It's also possible the tire blew out and it rubbed on the inside of the fender well causing damage. I think that's a more likely scenario than it being T-boned and not reported.

That doesn't look right to me but it has been a while since I had my 981. Can you send me or post your VIN. I''ll look it up.
How many miles are one the car and has it been driven in a lot of winter conditions? Just curious.

Ok... I had to go check my Spyder, which I bought brand new from my local dealer, Sunset Imports.
Here is both sides of mine and as you can see it's very similar... minus the dirt

Here is another way to look at it. Consensus is this was minor, if anything. New cars are delivered all the time with minor corrections...new assures nothing. Depending on the state, repairs are permitted to a certain percentage of MSRP without disclosure. I have a Mini Cooper GP with a flawless history, yet it has a painted rear quarter that I later discovered. No disclosures from Mini for a factory or port repair; it was the dealer. When I measured the paint with my body shop buddy to confirm, he stated he repairs new BMWs all the time...mostly from transport damage. So long story short, enjoy that bad boy and the peace of mind that at least comes with a CPO warranty.
