Default Gear grind on Spyder

Hi, has anyone noticed occasional gear grind on new spyder from first to second? I have had two spyders first one had no such issue this new one occasionally grinds with rapid shifting ... Wondering if anyone else has noted this

Only 200 miles but it happened a few times so far. Nothing big - just felt off, even though the clutch was in.

Have this issue on my GT4. A couple of other people have it as well. We are discussing it in the issues thread in that subforum:

Yeah. I've noticed it a few times. I thought it was me. Happens regularly on every s2k I've owned too. Used to think it was the gear boxes, until i notuced ot in my spyder.

I've thought recently that I might be was letting clutch release too fast when doing second gear shifts.

no. I have to say this is one of the smoothest shifting transmissions I have ever driven in any car.

You are shifting to low. Even when cold there is no reason to ever shift your car below 4000rpm. There's a huge gap between the ratios on 1 and 2. What is happening is that since you haven't sped the gears up enough before you make the shift, the synchros are having to work extra hard to speed up 2nd gear before it can engage it. This will be most pronounced when the gearbox is cold. Raise your shift rpms by 500-1000 and I bet you problem goes away completely.
