Default Click sound after disengaging electronic brake

Hi everyone, I am new here and preparing to purchase a manual 2014 Boxster (base). I notice twice that after disengaging the brake and slowly pulling away, you hear a loud enough click. Just one click and you don't hear it anymore while further stop and go driving. I heard it twice and only after the brake was applied then released.

I called a Porsche dealership and asked if this was normal but the service advisor said he would need to hear it.

Any thoughts?

I wonder if it is just the brake pad sticking to the rotor and then breaking free. My Miata used to do that.

So does this sound like a minor issue? Otherwise it drives and rides well. Only 10k miles.

The ebrake does not make the pads engage the rotor. There is an internal drum brake with its own brake shoes.

If it is a loud noise and it continues I would definitely get the car looked at. The electric brake should make a little hum sound from the actuators when the button is pressed. That is the only noise that is normal.

It's my understanding that the emergency brake releases itself once you start driving the car...no effort is needed on the driver's part to release the brake. The sound you hear is that automatic releasing sound.
