Default Road Trip Report - New 981 (2013 Boxster S)

Here is a road trip report from last weekend when I drove my 2001 986 to Atlanta and drove home a 2013 981. ... Bob

Congratulations. I had a similar experience last May when I drove to TN to trade in my 2010 Boxster for a 2013 Boxster S. Your car looks fabulous, love the guards red. The 981is such a great ride. Enjoy.

Very nice read, but now you got me wanting to trade my 08 BS in on a 981.

Unfortunately my means outweighs my wants.

I must admit it was quite "weird" seeing a Boxster surrounded by snow.

And of course more snow today after a mild winter here; probably will not be able to drive it for 2 weeks after purchase...:-)

Nice write-up! Thanks for posting. Super beautiful ride and I know the feeling of slipping into a new model and turning the key and completely forgetting about your beloved "old dog". Such is life.
Enjoy!
P.s. What's interesting to me know is that I do think back to certain highlights of my 06 C2S and my 08 TT cab and wish for a day I had them back! Alas... I can't have them all.

Or is it that your wants outweigh your means. That's my situation for sure.

You know I took my 2012 BS in for service. They gave me a 2015 Boxster as a loaner. After about 3 hours I brought it back to get a Cayenne. Something about the newer one just didn't do it for me. Looks wise I would get it hands down, but not for driving.

Very nice write-up. I also have a 2013 Boxster S I bought used last Nov with similar options - PDK, Sports +, but with a black leather interior and really like it. I had a 2006 Cayman and while I enjoyed the car I wanted something with a lot more power. Went with a 2011 Shelby GT 500 and satisfied the power bug. But missed the Porsche handling and came back to the Boxster S. I am finding that the more hp in the 981 is my cup of tea and at this point I am not missing the Shelby at all.

BTW I am in the Richmond area and am also ready for some much nicer weather so I can get the car back on the road!
