Looking at buying a 968

I got the same results, too. Not too sure of their reputation. Definitely would be getting some vehicle history.

Drifting
the red car looks like it has some overspray on the drivers side fender welt and there may be a little delamination of the hatch also on the driver side. the bottom of the hood looks a bit smoked also but that could be anything.

Although $10-$15k is not a huge sum of money in the Porsche world, I would highly recommend looking at any 968 in person prior to buying. Learn from my mistakes. http://www.project968.org/the-start-of-ownership/
I wouldn't write it off completely if the dealer is a bit shady, unless the transaction is not in person.
Good Luck!

I think I got it
Hi Bill,
Well, the stack of maintenance records is obvious. You'll want to see a timing/balance belt replacement within the last 4 years. Then the usual stuff. Check the clutch, tires, brakes. Look at the carfax, look for paintwork, accident history. Check that the sunroof works, A/C, no warning lights. Run through the accessories.
If you are interested in how the car compares production-wise post the last 3 of the VIN and I'll look it up for you.
These are great and rare cars. You won't be disappointed.

You can find much of the roll up data on 968register.org
I built the databases and they are on my desktop so they aren't public.
