Anybody Used CoverKing Dashboard Cover for 968?
I am considering how to keep my dash crack-free over the long-term, and am considering to purchase a dash-cover to keep the sun off it. The company CoverKing seems to have several options for material to make a custom fitted dash cover for a 968, has anyone in the group purchased this or another dash cover, and if so, how has this worked out? Looking at the installation instructions on their website, it seems that they recommend to glue fasteners to the dash to hold the cover in place, which seems counterproductive to me, as it probably leave some sort of residue over time? If you do have a cover in place, can it just sit by itself, and protect, without anything holding it in place?

Nathan, I understand your concern but IMHO, those dash covers are just plain ugly. I have found that with regular care your dash bad will hold up fine. I bathe mine in Meguiars #40 regularly and you could get a windshield sun cover for those long periods of time when the car will be out in the sun.

I used a similar dashboard cover on my old 911 but I did not attach it, that just messes everything up - fuggly. Lay it on the dash if you park the car in the sun and throw it in the back seat when you get in. And do what Jeff does.

Jeff,
I completely agree that the aesthetics for the dash pads is less than a bare un-cracked dash, I just want to make sure that long-term, I keep it from cracking. I already use a sun visor when I park the car in the sun, and I appreciate your advice about using Meguiars #40 as a preventive step.
BTW, do you also use this as a treatment for rubber around your car?
Thanks Nathan

I use a Mother's protectant for rubber trim. Adam's makes a great one too.
