Pasha's Art Car in new Panorama
Just received the latest issue of Panorama.
The first article I read was the one on Bill's "tribute" (is that the appropriate word) to Jim Pasha and his 968. Great article, and results. I have always admired the art cars, and this one is no exception. I am not sure which artist tribute is my favorite, although the subtle guitar pick around the right headlight is pretty neat. The photos look great and I doubt do it justice. I would love to see it in person sometime.
Bill, do you or did Jim play guitar?
I hope I did not spill the beans too early Bill?
Daniel

Great tribute and write-up Bill!
It is a testament on how much Jim contributed to the Porsche community - and your contribution to remind us of that is greatly appreciated.

Amazing story. Very moving, almost broke down when I read how Jim passed away. As car nut, this is the way we would all like to go, doing what we love doing most.
A very special feeling when I read about Arash and his involvement in this project. I have known him for many yrs. Amazing wrench and a great guy. Thanks to 968 ownership, I have met some of the most amazing people who I am fortunate enough to call friends.
Incredible article. Thank you for writing such a wonderful piece.

It was a lot of fun, and a privilege, to be involved with that project!
Thanks for the compliments, Raj, and I feel the same way - I've met great people because of Porsche ownership, and I'd even say I've learned how to be a good wrench because of it, and people like Jim Pasha and his articles. I give to the community as much as I can because it always gives me so much.
I get to drive the car occasionally. Man, that car turns heads like you wouldn't believe! At first, I was really timid and didn't like driving it and getting all of that attention. But now I just get amused when people stare! Some people give me thumbs up, or smile, or even shout out "cool car", etc. But some people just give me the nastiest stink-eye and that amuses me just as much, LOL!
It does look really good in person. Bill is wise and resourceful, and found a great bunch of talent (and me ) to execute this tribute.
I haven't been around here, but I've still got my head buried in 968s. (and 944 turbos)

This is one of my favs. It appeared on this site a couple of times as sort of an incognito teaser. I think only Jay inquired about about what it was. I suspect that many of you saw it and thought you should see an eye doc or lay off the sauce.
I note that FRporscheman in showing his favorite pic has the car illegally parked on the wrong side of the street. The not so subtle reason for this, that I know, and you don't, is that his name is visible in red on the lower edge of the hatch glass. In addition, this photo shows the wheels he painted. If the car were parked legally the photo would show the wheels I painted.
PS: I love the license plate frame.

Daniel,
Glad you enjoyed it and I have a really great secret for you. For the 100th time I have looked at that black shading around the headlight and wondered why Cole did it. I even looked at it again today. Until I read your post I was totally in the dark. Now I get it and, yes, Cole is a guitar freak. Now, please, if you can explain the purple polka dots.
Here is another secret lost in editing and photo limitations. When the headlights are up on the passenger side the bucket has an eye that stares at the passenger. The driver side duplicated it but I told Cole that it hypnotized and was dangerous. He changed it to a very feminine wink. I now smile at it until dusk.
I'd like to take this opportunity to publicly thank Pete for pushing me and encouraging me for this piece.
More secrets to be disclosed soon. No Waldos, but other fun stuff.

Actually, I like the Picasso and Lennon on the other side... Some goofball decided to park it that way and wouldn't give me the keys.
Here's another pic I took
