Very nice result Raj....has the BMW thanked you yet for not drilling holes for the trailer hitch / bike rack? Quite a bike hauler you've built with the 968!

Thanks Steve. Glad I decided on going with a 968 coupe instead of drilling holes in my daily driver. I just love 968's and it's always a pleasure driving one.
By the time I am done with it, she will be as sorted as any 968 out there.

Give me your mailing address. Sending the 17c in coins I found under my seat yesterday. Maybe others will be as generous and jump on board.

Hahaha, considering how much Porsche parts cost, I would be lucky to cover one sun visor hook with all the generous donations

Don't be hasty. I am looking under seats in the Pasha car in a few minutes. Who knows how many coins Jim lost. I will check the Boxster later today.

WOW! 81c.

You guys are doing great!!! I found a woman's ear ring that looked like it was designed in 1985 under my seat when I had the seats out. Don't think it's worth much.

Its been a while now since I have posted on the subject. The last few months were tough with work and family but I did make some progress. Hoping to share some of the recent developments.

Repacking the CV joints.

Had a PDR guy perform his magic on the fender and hood. The end product was impressive. I will save pics for a later day when its completely done and ready. Still need to get the rear bumper and trim pieces resprayed. Might also get the rockers painted as they have typical chips from road use.

Replaced the front grill while I was at it. You can get a glimpse of the PDR work on the fender.

Also came to the conclusion that I might have to sell this car. I currently have 5 different Porsches and even though I somehow tried to justify buying this car to carry my bicycle, the truth of the matter is that I probably should purchase a wagon. That would allow me 4 doors and let me lay my bike down flat without needing much effort. I am still not done yet so I will hold off on putting it up for sale. When done, this will be a very well sorted 968.

You will need a log of how many miles you ride when you are done and update us with the cost/mile!

:-)

Keep posting! Love it!
Somehow I thought this might come back to be a high cost/mile of transporting your bike.

My business partner has got the cost of tuna down to $1,000/lb on his 44' Oceans Convertible!

Haha, I think I underestimated/went nuts to make sure everything was done right. Didn't want to cut any corners. If it sells, great. If not, I have a great car to enjoy. She is driving very well.

Update: 4/24/2017

Car has been performing flawlessly and working out really well in carrying my bicycle for group rides. Plan to hold on to it for a while. Getting good use out of it.

Great picture show of progress, with the final result of a bike in the back!
