cam timing HELP needed
I am changing belts, chain, pads, water pump etc. The mistake I have made is not saving valve timing. I did not at the time realize what all is involved in cam timing such as supplying air to vario cam actuator. Does anyone have more details on this & pictures of air hookup etc?
thanks Jeff

FRporsheman has a good write up on the job and the UK website has some info. There seems to be conflict on after tdc and before tdc in some interptations.
I printed a cam profile gauge if you need one to get started. I will try to upload a picture.

Edit 2...tool reference in this one. https://rennlist.com/forums/968-foru...reat-info.html

I just did this job yesterday! My air supply was a piece of hose jammed into the variocam actuator with my lovely wife holding as best she could. Seems to have done the job, but I won't really know until I get the car back on the road.
As long as you have a couple dial guages and follow the instructions above, you should be fine.

I see know that the the variocam actually advances when you proceed with the steps in cam timing procedure. Thanks for the help. I will hopefully have car back on road in next couple days.
