Now 5.7 inches makes sense, not 57...

Kevin Gross has this too which seems to conflict with my manual.

Those measurements are track dimensions in inches, not offsets.

(The track measurements change if the wheels change because the offsets are different)

Haha, I enjoy this topic.

I've got a new theory on fitting 9.5 or 10" wide front wheel without modifying any body work. Will try it soon and report back...

You can use this extremely helpful tool to help you visualize different widths and offsets.
http://www.willtheyfit.com/

I used it to calculate the custom offsets I needed so that I could fit 265 tires on 18 x 9.5 wheels all round on my 951.

Dredging up an older thread to posit the following question:

Looking at the added spacer - the wheel stud threads left for engagement are reduced.

Is this acceptable? I'm looking at replacing the stock 45mm rear wheel studs with 52mm wheel studs to accommodate the 7mm spacer so as to return the wheel nut/stud thread engagement back to the original specs.

Thoughts?

that sounds like good math. general rule is 3 diameters with alloys(nuts) or nine turns.

Lots of good info in this thread. I found a square setup that I am considering buying for my 968. They are 18x9 et52 all around. Any input on how this will fit the car?
