Hey Dimi - I can't speak to the 944 Turbo, but a 968 that is still using a dual mass flywheel does not have any dampening springs in the disc.

When you have a minute, would you please post the Sachs part # of that disc?

Agree this is an OEM 951 disc...wasn't aware the 968 could fit the same disc.

Would this only be the case in sport applications using a single-mass flywheel?

Even in a motorsports flywheel application, the disk you show should not clear the flywheel.

Hey Raj, so what clutch disc do you use with the motorsports flywheel? I had a lot of trouble finding a strong disc to go with the fidenza.

Spec makes higher clamping disks, but they are also without springs. I know of a car with 550hp that had such setup.

We used a stock disc with the friction material from a higher rated sachs disc, a 'workshop special' sort of thing, similar sort of power level I guess. It seemed to work fine but it was a hassle to find a workable combination.

So, that said, what's the critical dimension?

What disc did the factory use in the Turbo S and Turbo RS...a one-off, limited-application, disc from Sachs? And you decided on a Spec disc? Does the OEM Turbo Cup disc play nicely with the Motorsport FW?

Same setup as a 951. Longer torque tube as a 951 with a cup clutch disk and pressure plate.

When you say Motorsports flywheel, you need to be clear if its a 968 bell housing setup or a 951 bell housing setup. This will determine what kind of flywheel you have and how deep it is. Once you know this, you can then start speccing the disk and pressure plate.
