Default Rust Proofing

Hey everyone need some recommendations if anyone has any. Today I took a peak under my car and noticed some rust in various areas below the car, and I don't want it to get worse.

Does anyone know a good place in Markham area that does rust proofing?

I have a '95 968 coupe. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

If it is already rusting, rust proofing won't do much.

Rust proofing generally aims to prevent rust, not remove or stop it from spreading.

Rust proofing could actually make it worse, depending on if there is any moisture that gets locked in during application.

What is the extent of the rust? Surface, pitting, through? Where? Rockers? Floor? Jack points?

Post some pics. Also try posting in the main 924-44-68 forum, there is more traffic there.

Thank you - ok I'm going to take some pics tomorrow underneath the car to give you a better idea of what I'm looking at. Thanks for your help!

The 968s and most modern cars are well treated at the factory so there is usually never any rust issues. That said, if you are seeing rust then i would check out eastwood.com. They sell a paint called rust encapsultor which is applied directly to the rust (after you wire brush the lose stuff) and then keeps it from spreading. I have used it on the restoration of my 1970 Dodge Challenger and it works great.

remove the rust, primer with hardener.... and paint or Devcon.

but like mentioned above, metal is somewhat tricky....

can't always beat the rust, but done right, you should be able to slow it down.

i'll be going over my car pretty soon.

epoxy is king.
