Yep - I sold it; the buyer is in the process of lining up the shipping. I converted it to a track car, starting in 2012, and after several iterations with the suspension set-up, ended up with a very capable track weapon. But I started racing in an arrive-and-drive series (a lifelong dream of mine) two years ago driving rented Radical SR1's at Atlanta Motorsports Park. I was going to keep my 968 to continue tracking it between races for practice, but found that the 968's responses are so, well, radically different than the Radical's (which shouldn't have been a surprise, as the 968 is a converted street car, while the radical is a mega-bonkers purpose built race car weighing not much more than a third of my 968, with a very short wheelbase, mid-engined, no ABS, and a 5.8:1 weight-to-power ratio, so basically an overgrown go-kart with a ton of aero thrown in), and I was finding that steady improvements I was making on my lap times in the 968 weren't translating to the Radical. So, I made the difficult decision to sell the 968. As odd as this may sound, my current plan is to replace the 968 with a racing go-kart, as this should be closer in driving dynamics to the Radical than the 968, and provide more translatable practice seat time. Very low operating costs, too, and easy to store. So I'm kind of going about it backwards - most people start with karts when they're kids, and move up to racing cars, where I'm going in the reverse direction. But I hear most F1 and other high level racers do a lot of karting for practice, so it seems to be a popular approach.

Nowadays I think most serious drives drive their sim-machines in their spare time. That an on-line e-racing.

Did you ever get the headlights aligned?
When the car was briefly in my care I had to drive it around a bit and couldn’t see a thing at night because the lights were pointed somewhere other than the street.

Still got my zip ties to fix the throttle cable slack?

the car is silly fast and sounds good though.

Yes, I also have a pretty high-end sim - it's great for practicing technique, but lacking the sensation of g-forces, it doesn't quite replicate the full experience (and occasional sheer terror) of the real car. I'm thinking a combination of sim time, and time in a scary-fast kart, is the way to go.

What an amazing ownership journey. Love the 993 headlights and 997 shifter. I'm considering picking up a 968 as a fun daily. Found that 968 ownership and semi exotic post very valuable.
