It's Monday that the 968 goes to CCM for its revision of beginning of season !!! Before loading it I took the opportunity to do a little cleaning at the level of stickers in order to make room for the new partners of the Historic Tour 2017.

Ready to receive the new images !!!!

The rear face is already well stick and will remain as it is !!!

I have not yet decided on the tires: Yoko or Michelin, hence the presence of two stickers. I was pleased with the Yoko in 2015 and on the Bugatti race last year, and they are a bit cheaper than the Michelin,
The Michelins are made in 24/64/18 and 27/65/18 in S7 or S9
I know the Dutch were in Michelin and put the S7 in front and S9 rear. In Nogaro, I had found a very rear reverser at the beginning which was certainly due to this gum type gap (too hard to rear compared to front)
The Yoko are in rubber "Medium" and make 230/650/18 and 250/650/18.
To have............!!!!!

The trailer is harnessed

We will load Sunday at the end of P.M to be on the RdV Monday 9h in the workshop !!! To be continued...

The 968 is on the lift

Flat bottom removed, inspection of the belts and detection of seepage, especially side seal spi crankshaft, RAS !! Great.

The rear gear is set to slick mode: anti-roll bar to the hardest.

Dismantling front disc

Changing front discs on "racing" bowls.

The old discs were those assembled when buying the car in 2015

The brake calipers will be completely rebuilt (joints, new pistons and paint). Engine drain, and tomorrow turn to Oreca to take the correct engine oil temperature sensor and mount the new mano to the dashboard. They work, they work ... to follow .....

A little hello to CCM to carry the new temperature sensor and to measure the dimensions of the spark plug wires that are "made to measure". They worked on the brake calipers AV !!!! Passage in sandblasting cabin before reassembly of the new pistons and joints and to pass in paint .... red of course!

The supplier of the ignition beam was found !! Super, the 4 wires are on order ... it will go quickly because it is a French box in Nazelles-Negron and the 4 are identical.

The list of future purchases is growing !!! The bucket seat will be changed for July

And fire extinguisher for August !!! It will be his 10th year !!!

Small supplement of the evening !!!! I love these mechanics !!!!

They continued to improve some detail of the car, here with the new gearbox control termination.

It will be necessary to make the last rigid and swivel connection that will replace the original twisted leg

And then to immortalize BEFORE and AFTER !!! There is no discussion about the preparation before painting !!!!

While waiting for the last pieces on order, the team continues in small touches the upgrade. The finished brake calipers are reassembled,

The new, deglated and chamfered brake pads are in place.

The air filter is cleaned and reassembled.

At the beginning of the week, passing the car on the lift, the aspect of the insulation of the cross-pipe had aroused the stigma of the mechanics !! We're not gonna leave it like that !!!

Well, the renovation works have started !!! With dismantling of the cross-pipe to do something other than small DIY !!! Sacred team !!!

Relax this Friday on the 968 !!! Priority for the team: deliveries of cars to customers for the weekend and small emergency interventions !!! It is me who is "refueled" the workshop in small material for next week including the famous complete ignition beam with its insulating sleeves (added by passing Oreca which is 500m from the workshop !! !!)

These sleeves will insulate the anti-parasite and avoid the mechanical friction of the wires on the intake manifold. A quick assembly on the spark plug (the ignition coil is not yet in place) confirms the good resistance of the wire.

Bingo !!!!! By continuing to feed the Forum Rennlist which relates the saga of this 968, I was pleasantly surprised to receive from a forumer( Thank you "Boost feen") a link that offers the famous "rod" linking the gearbox to the command

. So, it's ordered !!!! It is still more "mechanical" than the Twisted flat iron !!!

Once mounted, it will give that !!!

I'm going to order that too. But it does say on that website that it won't fit 968?
Is the rest of that linkage available as well? That other part I'm assuming is not stock.

WARNING, my gearbox is that of a 944 turbo and not one of 968.

Looks great.

What is that material used to shield/glue the fuel lines to the bulkhead? It appears black in color and looks to be some sort of caulk or putty?
