Default whats market for 15k 3.6 turbo?

Been eyeing the black beast at marshall goldman motor sales. Any thoughts on the asking price of 259k?

Thanks,

Rich

Sounds about right. Quarter million dollar car.

A nice 3.3L can be had for half of that.

richk, then you know what you are getting into. I'd say this car must be mint and no stories.
Price wise, you know, MG is not the low price seller, but you get a good specimen.

Perfect no story cars are still selling at premium prices as has been case for a while now but overall the 911 turbo market has taken a bit of hiccup in past 6 months. I am not familiar with this car but MG has had a history of selling above average cars and as canepa they ask you to pay for the privilege of them finding low mileage gems.....but as always ALL potential purchases need to be reviewed carefully and don't rely on the fact that simply because MG is selling it means it's flawlesss. Assume inconsistencies (even if sellers reputation is perfect) when approaching purchase and you will scrutinize properly.

Tried to buy a 996 TT from MG few years ago and even though I was re-assured no paint work but when I got there, one of the fenders and the front bumper had been resprayed.

They had no answer for me besides telling me I had better eyes then their sales guy

Make sure they either send you pictures of paint meter readings or give them to you writing.

Looks like a nice example. I believe I had seen this car years ago but it sold quickly.

To state the obvious. The wheels are not original to the car. There is no option for the polished center speedlines and the center caps are incorrect. At least they are factory wheels and look good on a black car vs the standard painted centers. The car has aftermarket suspension so it sits a little lower and aftermarket exhaust or tailpipes at a minimum. Engine sound deadening could use replacing but that is minor. No doubt the cell phone console is not a common option you see. The phone is useless analog but cool I have the same phone option in my 928GTS. The cell phone console in these cars IMO gets in the way while driving. I would keep it in place along with the antenna but I removed my battery so it won't leak or have problems and just keep it in storage. If their important to you verify the seat heaters work and lumbar they are known to fail and not cheap to fix. It is nice they have the original stereo that comes along with it.

I would say with all that going on it is a fair price for this car assuming everything else is as represented.

Guys thanks for all the comments.

Like I said earlier have bought alot of cars from MG including a CGT.

And yes the wheels are not original...thanks.

And yes over of the fenders has been repainted because of scratches.

I am looking at one other car in NYC today and will then make up my mind.

Truly appreciate the guidance from my rennlist friends.

richk, you may also want to call Ray Joseph at RPM in Houston; and I can speak highly of his integrity. IMHO he has the best leads on this breed.

PS: I bought a '94 a few years ago from a private party and I bought a turd with my eyes wide open. What has saved my skin is the fact that the prices have quadrupled. I don't see the prices going up, but rather falling. IMHO.

Wow, that seems low. Prices on the driver cars have definitely seemed to have softened over the last year.
