Default 964 3.3 turbo help with hoses

Im trying to find out where to connect these hoses when re-installing a new engine. Can anybody help.

1. Drivers side (left) thicker hose that seems to go towards the cabin

2. Thinn hose that goes to the black "container"

what part of the engine bay is the second one?

I'll try to remember to take a look tonight if nobody has answered.

Off the top of my head - first one looks like the line that goes to the EZ-69 maybe.
Oh dumb question - which side of the car is driver side for you?

The car is left hand drive.

The first hose comes into the engine compartment through the body of the car on the left side. Could it be return pipe from power steering?

The second one is right side of the engine compartment

I believe the hose in first pic is vacuum supply for the power brakes it runs off of manifold pressure of course..
The second is a fuel return line I think to the tank up front, check your hoses on the injection you should find a connection .
I have one in the garage with engine out I'll check tomorrow...Bert

There are no vacuum assisted power brakes on any 964/965. All use a hydraulic pump for assist.
The one line with the white barb is a vapor recovery line. It runs from the fuel tank to the charcoal canister. I'm unsure about the smaller line. Where does it originate from?

the first hose is off the charcoal canister and connects to a stepped hose from the air filter housing....
the small black plastic hose is for the headlight leveling system (M605) it connects to a check vavle off the throttle body port....vinnie

My bad I guess I was recalling my 3.2 Carrera days of some years back .
I was unaware the 965 had a self leveling headlight let alone a system
that involves vacuum lines to the manifold.
Good stuff will be installing a six- speed in my '91 965 hopefully this summer , I'm certain there's plenty I've forgotten since my last one

Well since I'm modding a 965 the tribute will be of a RS3.8 but if I
understand your query the trans is a fresh 993 6 speed with LSD.
Removed from an early '96 a friend crashed and parted a long time ago, had the varioram as well and sold it both had less the 10k miles..

Here is still a better photo of the second hose, which I don't know where to connect and what is its purpose. The headlights are not adjusted by vacuum.

ps. thanks for the answers so far. photo1 was this hose from carbon canister to air box.

i have the same set up in the picture....that is the reservoir with the vaccum lines feeding it, then heading to the front of the car....
my car is a euro model that had the system taken off when it came to the states....i put the car back to the way it was in europe....it is not a common option in the states....maybe the system was taken off at one point....you should have a switch next to your headlight switch that operates the system....what you have in your hand is the source line that connects to the throttle body....i don't have the car at the shop today or i would get you some pictures....would you post your vin # and i'll see if you have the option....vinnie

I don't think it was an option for North American models.
Here's a question: was cruise control available on ROW cars? There's not even a mention of it in my owners manual.
