Gas dripping under tank
Guys-
Drove the to work today - was a beautiful day before winter returns tomorrow night. On the way home I started to notice a fuel smell. Got home searched and saw some threads. Inspected my hoses etc - no sign af gas/residue, etc. And could not smell gas from a specific spot. Fast forward 2 hours and I'm messing around and smell gas still. Look under the car and - damn if there isn't a small puddle under a slow drip! Right under the tank on pasenger side-ish.
I won't have a chance to get the front end up in the air until tomorrow night earliest - so thats great...
Is this where the fuel lines run to the engine? Is this a common issue?
TIA for any insight-

The lines are all right there entering the fuel tank. Fuel pump is on the left. There's a short formed hose (964-201-582-00) that might have gone bad on you.
I removed my fuel tank to replace the vapor line last winter. I replaced the screen in the fuel tank while I had it out. It wasn't a complex job. Be sure to drive the fuel down almost to "E" if your feeling adventurous and want to remove the tank or disconnect any of the lines under it.

Yeah I have half a tank in there :-( Well I did before it started leaking at least.
So after removing the under tray I should be able to see the problem you think? Or do you think the tank will have to come out?

Road trip Paul!
But yeah - deal!
Got under the car tonight. Clearly leaking from the fuel pump cover. Took it off and the banjo fitting on the fuel pump (side with electrical connections) was loose. Put a 19mm wrench on the big end and tightened it up. Looks good now. Left the cover off and will reinspect this weekend. Was 60 F yesterday. Snowing now and tomorrow. forecast is 60 F for Saturday. LOL.
Thanks-

Good news. There's two crush rings on the banjo fitting. If it continues to drip you will have to replace them and I think the tank will need to be empty.
I'm bringing my road bike so we'll definitely get a ride in.

Well I'm going thru withdrawal - haven't driven the car in more than two weeks.
But at least no gas dripping on the floor 10 days later. Will re-check after the next few drives....

That is the best time to have the engine beside the car! My exhaust headers are in PA and the front spoiler is at the local paint shop (damn 2" clearance ) Also picked up the 993 3rd brake light kit and have purchased a euro back glass.. Just need to see if the glass is vaporware, as there are issues with finding a shipper ..

Is it RS glass that eliminates the rear wiper (it unfortunately eliminates the rear defogger too)?
That's on my list for the far-out future.

Nope, this glass has rear defroster, rear wiper and no black box. Part 964 545 107 06.. just having a hassle getting the guy to ship it. May be I get him to ship it to your place ;P

Jeff - why the need for new rear glass?
Paul - I thought the motor was back in? Why back out?
Agreed now is the best time to not have a car running. Of course my garage isn't heated so no fun to work on the car now either....
