964 TurboS Lightweight
I'm just in a discussion about the 964 TurboS Lightweight.
Are there any of these cars in the UK (RHD) ?
Porsche denies the existence of the cars VIN: WP0ZZZ96ZPS479082 to PS479086 - Does anyone have information on these cars for UK (C16)?
any help is welcome !!

The Turbo S was approximately 400 lb. lighter than a standard 3.3 Turbo but it wasn't officially called a "lightweight".
The factory didn't deny their existence but they didn't go out of their way to advertise them either. Technical info is also hard to come by.
A total of 8 Turbo S's were built with right hand drive.

here is one for sale : Turbo S
The cars where homologation models with their own VIN range
WP0ZZZ96ZPS47 9 XXX
build from Nr 479001 to 479086 and that is the reason why i asked my question -
i have data for all these cars in hand - Porsche denies the exist of Nr 82-to 86 - all UK ( C16) cars, when i look at my data.
So if someone here has ever heard of these cars - that would be great help !!

learn something new everyday. 400 lbs is a ton of weight reduction. So how many of the reported 20 or so 91 Turbo S cars are lightweights? Wonder if they are street legal in the States.?

"Lightweight" "Leichtbau" was the official name!
964 turbo 3.3 S Leichtbau.
Some say 81 cars other 86.
These numbers also shown in several books.
Some cars came with Airbag but the most came without
but all come with complete RS interior in full leather from the Exclusiv Section.

It might be option X33 - OTOH this may not be it as I think this option was available for all 3.3 Turbo and may have been 355HP. Thinking further .... I think the engine type for the 3.3 Leichtbau was M30/69SL w/ 381 HP so that would not be X33 option.

as i said Problem is that Porsche-PET lists the cars from WP0ZZZ96ZPS497082 to 479086 , the Porsche PPN-Network denies the existance . So i´m looking for someone who saw those RHD cars ( UK C16 delivery ) in real life!
@CD - Christian - du hast nicht zufällig die Fahrgestellnummern der beiden aus dem Link den du im elferteam eingestellt hattest ?

Ok so to be clear what is needed is data on all cars WP0ZZZ96ZPS497001 - WP0ZZZ96ZPS497086 which cars should all have option code M720. More specifically you are looking for Bestell-Typ 964771 RHD cars. I understand that you are looking for real world RHD examples such as the above provided photo.

I can tell you that Porsche does not deny the existence of these cars and that they were officially called 'Porsche 911 Turbo S Leichtbau'.
More to come ....

This has me curious now. There appear to be a lot of cars to identify - plus a lot of facts to clarify. I think I will put together a site similar to flachbau.com cataloguing these cars.
