Default WTB: 17x8 et52, 17x9 et55 Porsche wheels

Looking for a set of 17x8 ET52 and 17x9 ET55 "Cup" or, more correctly, C2 Turbo wheels that were optional on 968s, C2/C4 and standard on the 1991 964 Turbo.

I need 8's & 9's in 17" to put onto my '89 944 for SCCA autocross, these sizes are legal to the rules, within the +1" dia. and +/- 7mm offset limitations, and I'd like to stay Porsche rather than have a set built.

Thanks for any info that might help track a set down.

Ed

PS: I think the part nos were 96536212600 and 96536212800

The 91-92 turbo came standard with 7" & 9" x 17" CupI's the RSA came standard with 7" & 8" x 17" Cup I's which were optional on the C2/C4. IIRC the 968 M030 came with 7.5" & 9" x 17 Cup I's and CupII's in 1994 which are lighter. 9.5's were also made and optional on the 964 turbo but quite rare. The 928GTS came with 7.5" and 9" Cup I's but were drilled for the tire pressure monitors.

Unfortunately finding 8 & 9's usually mean buying 4 sets and having a bunch of 7's left over

Yup, this is turning out to be more difficult than I thought. A Rennlister has offered me the C2 Turbo 8" fronts, but I'm reluctant to buy because 1) the cost and 2) not sure where I'd find the matching rears.

If I'm going to pony-up for C2 Turbo 8s & 9s I'd like to know I have a matching set.

There are some other possible 8's & 9's that I'm looking at also.

Turbo never came with 8's except in 18" on the 3.6T. Stock size was 7" up front on 91 92 3.3l cars. The 8's are most valuable IIRC and hardest to find. New are about $1200 each so if you can find a set for reasonable costs buy them. Although most need to be straightened. Why not go for the CupII's for track since they are lighter and were offered on the 968?

this might help but some of the info is incorrect.

I've contacted the OP about these already but I'll throw these up here also for any interested. Have been planning to list these for sale in the forums but haven't had time.

I have a pair of OEM 8's in new condition that have been refinished and have not had tires mounted on them since being refinished. $1395 USD for the pair, plus shipping plus Paypal fee. PM if interested.

I'd keep an eye on german ebay. It might be cheaper and more convenient to buy single 8s and single 9s to piece your 4 wheels together rather than buying 2 sets of originals, then be left with 4 x 7" wheels.

Even with shipping, it might be worth a look. The alternative option is to buy Mille Miglias. I have 7.5" and 8"s at the moment. I am considering moving the 8"s up front and buying 2x 9"s.

I can give you a head start on the 9" rear.

I've got a set of real cup 1 8s and 9s that I purchased a while back from a rennlister that are straight, painted black but are not show wheels ... perfect track wheels. I haven't gotten around to refinishing them because they don't fit over my 355 Brembo rotors. I'd consider selling them for what I paid if your interested. Please pm me for more information.

@cscrogham @eddieb4:

I'd be interested but I am afraid shipping cost to Switzerland would be prohibitive.
