Door handle help 964
Hey Guys.
I have had a respray on my 964. My only problem is mounting the doorhandles. They are mounted, but i`ll think I have done it wrong. The reason I'm thinking that is because i`cant open them with a key when the battery is emty...
Any tips??

Did you disassemble them? If you did, make sure the attachment on the end of the key cylinder is on the correct side.
Also, that part of the cylinder should be striking the internal door lock ear (pushing it towards the front of the car) regardless of vehicle power.
Can you get a pic of how they look (if the door panels are still off)? I just had my door handles off and reinstalled them last week.

And you can open the doors when battery is empty (off) The door handles is mounted, maybe I can take a picture off another one that has a new respray too...

They should look like this when together. The earlier cars did not have the two tangs or pieces in gray. They only had a single piece IIRC allows you to unlock but not lock the doors unless there is power.
BTW have fun putting those plastic covers back.
