hey dnf-F

just my two cent but anybody who is trying to sell you a 964 RS 3.8 for a million dollars or more is certifiably nuts and you should stay away from them.

the car at RM London auction hammered for £640,000 which is $800,000 USD. subtract from that around 6% in the seller fees that auction houses charge and the person selling this car took home about $750K for it... just to reiterate this important point: the seller of the car got $750K for it. period. in other words, low mile 964 RS 3.8 that has approximately 10,000 miles and never been in an accident sold for $750K from the sellers point of view.

$750K is the market on these cars if they have ~10,000 miles. That is market on the 964 RS 3.8 cars... not a million dollars and definitely not above one million dollars.

the RM London auction results speak for itself... under one million dollars by a very long mile. anybody convincing you that these cars are worth a million dollars or more has a secret agenda

oh and by the way, 964 RS 3.8 cars with more miles on them (20k, 30k, etc.) are worth even less: $600K or even $500K USD...

hope my explanation makes sense to you. PM me if you have any other questions. cheers.

I know. RS 3.8 always has been in 3 times cheaper than RSR 3.8. Today, I can buy a RSR 3.8 for 830,000 euro. Then the RS3.8 should cost about 250 000 - 275 000 euro!

dnf-F: anonymous918 is a very knowledgeable and astute collector. It sounds like he knows where some RS3.8's are available well under $1M and he's invited you to PM him to discuss. I think you're now on the right track to finding your car.

Best of luck!

I saw this last week. Apparently ordered by the same french collector that ordered three 92 Turbo S's one of which was specked identical to this one. No one else could have taste (or lack there of) like this.

This must be the only RSR with street interior and options. Not sure why anyone would do that based on the fact it wasn't street legal anywhere in the world. The order forms I have for the RS and RSR don't show any of this as optional so they must have had a contact at the factory willing to do this.

My question, is the paint damaged or just years of crusted on dirt? It looks like it was in a fire.

No doubt this will fetch very high 6 figures. Wish I had the money despite the garish interior and poor choice of wheels and brakes but it is a one of a kind.

Has to have been ordered by the same owner. Right down to the gold calipers. Here's the Turbo S that was on display at Auto Collections in Vegas.

How did these factory RSR racecars run these slammed ride heights and not run into a geometry nightmare? Is it because they ran so much spring rate the suspension travel was minimal?

They used different components, much stiffer suspension and were intended to be driven on track surfaces. These were full blown race cars that is why this is such an oddity with the interior. I am thinking this car can bring new record for these cars considering mileage and interior.

I like the crank windows you have to open the door to lower otherwise the handle hits the roll cage.

Different components indeed. U get additional travel where not visible from outside.
