Default What is a pristine set of D90's worth?

I was considering selling a set of D90's in like new condition but only if they are worth getting rid of. If they are only worth $400 or so I might as well keep them but I might consider selling if they are worth $1000 or more.

Any thoughts on their value.

I also have two sets of D90s I would like to sell. Ebay still has several sets for sale selling for around $500.00. I think I am going to just hold on for the time being. I did upgrade my wheels, however, ten years from now the original D90s may be preferred, even though I replaced with cup 1 wheels, you never know. I also have a set of original cup 1 wheels with tires I would sell for $900.00, shipping included. Two sizes, 7 , and 7 1/2. You may use a half inch spacer for the rear.

I hear what you are saying but everything I find needs refurbishing. These are perfectly reconditioned as new condition.

BTW what are you asking for the 7 1/2 Cup I's assuming they are factory. I have three sets of 7's, two sets of 8's and two sets of 9's already.

I agree that a lot of D90s are being sold by dismantlers who view nicks and blemishes subjectively. As long as there is no curb rash, they are considered to be in nice condition by most sellers. I purchased my cup wheels a few years back when you could buy them on the cheap. I would like to keep them, but never could find the individual 9 inch for sale. Seems like once the 964 started going up in price, so did a lot of accessories, such as cup 1 wheels. Lately, I have only seen cup 1 wheels being sold as a set, and that means big money. I would like to get $550.00 for the 7 1/2 as a pair. How in the heck did you end up with three sets of cup wheels? Are they extra sets, and if so, would you ever sell individually?

Cool whip, I tried to send a PM but didn't go through. I think I need to renew membership which I'll do tomorrow. I'm interested in the cup 1's can you email at cpdjfd@yahoo.com or text me at 401-837-8852 with some more info on fitment for my 92 964. Thanks,
Chris

I bought and sold so many sets over the years. I also had 6 sets of 94 turbo Speedlines I sold off when they were cheap. There was a time I couldn't get more than $800 for a set of Cup I's with good tires on them.

Once prices started going up I have become a collector or as my wife says a hoarder. I figure these parts are always going to be worth something and if the price is right might as well inventory it. I also have a number of 964's so these parts fit all my cars.

In hind sight I do have a set of 7 1/2's they are stock on the front of my 928GTS so I actually have a complete set of 7 1/2 and 9's on top of the spare sets I have.

If cpdjfd107 wants them you might as well sell them as a set.

Cobalt, will the set he is selling work on my 964? I figured out a lot of things since having Porsches but wheel sizes and offsets wasn't one of them.

Back in 2010 when my ex wife and I split I had a couple sets of D90's laying around. I had cut plywood squares, dropped a long steel threaded dowel through the center holes and bolted it with large washers on both ends. Then I used both bolted together towers of wheels as a support for the back of my work bench in the garage. When I sold the house I left the work bench with the wheel towers in place. They were worth nothing back then.

The factory CupI sizes commonly used are usually 7 & 8 x 17. Standard on the RSA and optional on the C2/C4 from 92 up. 7 & 9 x 17 Standard on the 964 turbo 3.3L usually used by most when doing the Cup I upgrade. For the more aggressive driver 8 & 9 x 17.

I use 8 & 9 x 17 Cups for my AX rims. 8 & 10 x 18 for street driving.

As far s the D90's these are perfect restored wheels that look like they are factory new. Might be worth making some art work out of maybe a wall hanging it sounds like. Not worth selling for $400 would cost more to restore an old set. I guess these will go into deep storage until times change or my son inherits them. LOL

If these are OEM 7.5" Cup 1 wheels, then they are likely ET65, which means you'll need about 17 mm spacers. If they are replicas, they might be the right offsets. I'd ask for pics with offsets and part numbers.
