Would you sell your 850CSI for a 964?

If you can afford to, keep both. If it's a tight squeeze financially considering maintenance and mods, I don't think it will take you long to realize how phenomenal of a car the 964 is. Then again I am biased..........
Go drive a few variations of the 911 and figure out how raw or refined of an experience you want to have. The 964 to me is an almost perfect balance between the two.

I'd love to see a pack of 850 roar past me like in your last picture. Pretty cool, and a big plus that you like to use your car that way. You'll fit right in with the Porsche crowd.
Have you driven a 911/964? It's a very unique drive/experience that's not for everyone. I had a total of 30 miles of 964 driving experience before I bought my car, so I really had no idea of how these cars handled and what it would be like living with a on a daily basis. I immediately knew I liked what I was experiencing, and I could see enjoying this car from many years while I improved as a driver.
Fortunately you'll drive a couple as you look for the right car and start getting a feel for what it's all about (and if it's the right fit for you). Plan to overlap ownership of both cars for a couple weeks, just to confirm you've made the right decision.
Try to keep both though!

Three Wheelin'
8 series are awesome looking.....especially the CSI. Should have been the M8. I owned a 850csi for almost 10 years. The OP will be disappointed in 964 power but it will feel like it's 1000lbs vs the 850csi.

BTW I have come to a conclusion regarding my Porsche fetish as I also love BMW.
I decided to keep the e31 and will be getting a 997 or a 991 as a daily. I know its not an aircooled, but who cares :P

I like the editing style of the video. Nicely done and looks like everyone had an epic time. Those roads!
(awesome group highway, light flashing shot at the end!)
A lot of us on the forum think a 997 is a great complement to a 964, especially if it's a GT3. (lot of RLers own both, many threads)
It still a similar size, and the GT cars give you that raw experience of the older cars.
Tougher to daily, but worth it like the 964.
