Default Upholstery Color Question

A few years ago I bought a used '92 964 Targa, the front seats of which the previous owner had had recovered in vinyl. They don't look bad, but they are not the German, perforated partial leather seats the car originally had. In addition, the padding seems to be deteriorating making the seats less comfortable to me. I decided to contact World Upholstery to see if they could supply me with both leather seat covers in the original color and style and the padding as well. Well, to make a long story short, the build sheet of my car shows the interior color to be light grey (looks almost white), but World Upholstery tells me that color has been discontinued. They sent me sample patches of white, silver grey and gray, but none of those match the rest of the car's interior. (White comes the closest.) Any suggestions???

I have a midnight blue metallic coupe with light grey interior as well. I suggest contacting either GAAH in California or Classic 9 in Michigan. They should be able to help you. Also for 993's, Marble Grey is very very close, as is Linen although with a slightly yellower cast.

Thanks for these suggestions. I'll check with those places. I have a linen sample patch from World Upholstery and as you say, it's yellower...not exactly close enough. Someone also has suggested raspberry. I don't know about that one as I have not seen it.

You may have better luck with European suppliers.

I have a linen boot in my light grey interior...its not the same at all.

Let us know when you find a supplier, my seats look rather tired.

Raspberry, if I'm not mistaken, is the German version of what most of you guys call Linen.

Raspberry has a very slight pink to it. The sample was not pleasing to my eye when I was looking to replace my silk grey interior.

Raspberry is indeed Light grey and has the pinkish look although after 20+ years the pink has probably faded out. You would need to see a piece that hasnt seen the light of day, behind the door card or under the seat maybe

Light grey is still available, I've just had mine refinished in this colour, but custom made.
UK hides 1218 is the colour you need.

I have raspberry grey in my 91 blk targa. It looks pretty white. I dig it. I am buying covers from gaah this winter.
