Dilemma - 964 as DD or what?

DD is relative. In my case my daily drive is 20miles commute from rural area to San Diego. Mixed interstate and city traffic jams full of insane crazy drivers.
Taking 964 for such abuse and for constant risk of someone rinning in to me diring rush hour ... No.

I used mine as a DD for two years doing 400 miles a week, so about 36,000 miles. She ran like a Swiss watch, the only thing that went wrong was a split heater pipe down in the A-pillar next to my right leg (RHD)..... Man, it was so hot I could have cooked bacon! Anyway, a £15 replacement pipe sorted that out. No other issues at all, in fact, she ran the best she's ever run.
As soon as I stopped using her as a DD, guess what? Yep, problems...........!
People say 964's like to be driven...... They really do!

I should comment my previous car to the 964 was a 997 C4S Cab which I daily drove, and while it's more refined (quieter a little more solid) I actually didn't think it was as much fun, it was so damn quick that you can't get in the throttle anywhere without breaking the law, the 964 to me feels just the right fast for the street, you can still punch it and not get arrested.

I DD'd mine the 1st 2 1/2 years of ownership. It was always the 2 highlights of my day, driving to and from work. I now feel guilty that she sits more now than ever, but when I fire her up and get her out to stretch her legs, she never fails to remind me what a great drive she is!
Do it, you won't regret!

Mark,
I agree w/ 911Jetta,... have your A/C system upgraded to R-134a. It made all the difference in the world for mine. Blows ice cold year after year now, without any leaks. Kit is only like $60 (although it was like $40 back in 2011 when I did mine), and the most important part (where you'll pay a bit for their labor) is flushing out the old R12 oil from the lines. R12 & R134a oils do not mix, so you want to be sure they do that step correctly.
And hey, your question of DD driving - that's an EASY one in your case. Can you see yourself regretting that you sold a Voooooolvo?? seriously, sell the Volvo.

It's incredible how great of a daily it is. A couple of months ago I sold my dd 991S which i planned to replace with the .2 mid August. So not only have I been driving it every day I drove 1600 miles over two days toronto. I was so impressed that I decided to give up my .2 to the dealer and re-order it for a December delivery. All this while on 18s e88s and pss10 set at 7.

My Thoughts again
I don't understand having a 964 and not wanting to drive her every day kind of like being married to the most beautiful woman in the world (sorry guys I all ready am) and not wanting to be with her. every chance you get

I try to when weather permits. To be fair most of you have more people living 5 miles from you than live in my state population of South Dakota is 720,000 and I live along the Wy border another low population state. I drive about 150 miles a week
