Default Front Blower Motors - URO Parts

Does anybody have any experience with the URO Parts Front Blower motors on Pelican Parts ? I need two new ones and at $185 versus $800+ for the porsche original I wonder whether they may be worth a look. Has anyone purchased any and if so what was the quality etc ?

Thanks in advance.

Mark

Bought two pairs. All the typical sellers have them. Rock auto, parts geeks, pelican was $20 more. Bought 2 from Rock auto. Excited to install. Even though it's for my targa, wouldn't mind some a/c sometimes, and it's defrost season here in Boston soon.
Thanks for the lead. Had no idea you could now buy them for a fraction. Great thread!

Every single Porsche product that this company has come out with has been absolute garbage and I can't imagine the situation to suddenly change with these!

Considering the $600 price break over the bosch unit, it might be worth the gamble. I wouldn't want to pay shop labor on top for installation though. They aren't that awful to diy replace.

Let us know how they work out!

My thoughts exactly. I would rather pay less then 1/8 the price with these 2. These 2 cost me $172 each, 2 for 352.00 shipped. Nothing to lose.
I will let post how it all works out once I find the complete diy post on how to do it. Ha.

Warning this one closely. I can't seem to ever chase down why my ac doesn't work properly.

I hear ya. Same deal with the 91 coupe as well. Fans work but got leak. Need to deal with that car after the targa fan issue. Never had Ac work correctly in any 964. In my cab it did kinda. Ha.

They arrived today. They look identical in the smallest detail next to some spares I have from my wrecked cab. Don't know who makes the motor, if URO parts or not makes the motor. Doubtful. I can't tell. Now to find the thread about how to instal them and being in the mood. Ha. Name: photo938.jpg

There is a small difference in the 4 mounting points on the new unit. The original has rubber pads that slip over the plastic but they don't fit on the new unit. I modified the new one to accept the original rubber pads but it was probably a mistake as the fit was a little tight. I think that the new plastic pieces should be OK without the rubber. I replaced my passenger side fan as the original was trashed, but it still has an electrical drain, so the drivers side unit will be my next project.

Default front-blower-motors-uro-parts.

Just my two cents on this I have purchased two of these fans ended up putting in one of the found out for my 90 964 c2 they fit right in and work great. Made a mistake in the org fans as I pulled out both and installed two from uro ended up swapping out one of the org fans as I did not seat it right and thought both fans were bad. The C FMs on the URO fans are not what the oem fans are you can tell a diff not really that much at all but for the price I will get one of them again. This is an older post but wanted to get my word of thought in seeing an oem and uro next to each other

It will be interesting to see how many miles these things will last.
