Help! - Broken exhaust stud - Looking for Stomski Racing kit
Well... I broke one of the exhaust studs below the surface. So far I tried welding a nut to it but that did not work. I am looking to buy or borrow Stomski Racing exhaust stud repair kit. I will buy new kit if I must, but maybe someone has it and is willing to lend it or sell it?
Thanks!

Need to run a final 17/64 bit and fish out remaining thread, chase the threads and install new stud.
Just an outside wall of the stud remains. I was able to stay on centre all the way down.
Thanks!

Nice work !
I've had good results by using a smaller tap before getting the hole too close to the original threads.
Heat from drilling seems to loosen the remaining part. Run the tap in 'til it starts to cut new threads and then back it out.
Using a left hand thread tap also works well !

The highest temp rated loctite that I'm aware of is 272 and its only good to 200C. Not sure how hot the studs will get, but I imagine over 200C is not unlikely.

There are some mil spec super high temp and strength thread lockers (4 digit ones) but I doubt they are really necessary. Red thread locker 271 and 272 cures without air. But, since the threads are a bit looser after drilling out the stud I'm thinking an air cured thread locker would be more suited. Anyone have an experience in that area?
Or maybe even a liquid metal type of epoxy?
Thanks!
