Default Rothsport shifter installed

UPS guy showed up right after dinner today with my rothsport shifter. The car was already in the air and shifter removed, so I snuck out to the garage to throw it in. I had done the RS shifter last year and was happy with it but was in desperate need of a new shift **** and anything I liked was nearly half the cost of the rothsport, so I sold the rs. Installation was easy and their customer service is great, thanks Earl for the follow up emails.

Nice! I just placed my order with FD Motorsports today! I like how you left the shift boot exposed. Thinking of doing the same! Anytime behind the wheel yet?

really looking forward to one day putting this in my c4... I believe dobermandad was in the process of installing one in his, but I may be mistaken.

Love what you did with the boot as well

Thanks guys. I had no choice with the boot, my shift boot was that hammered. No driving time yet, hopefully later after work.

Where did you get the rubber accordion boot from? Or is that what's under the outside leather boot?!

That's an OEM piece. You should have one under your shifter leather boot.

You are going to love it. Did you do the G-rod and front rod replacement as well?

Unfortunately you can't install the double shear shifter on a C4.

Was fortunate enough to try the one in Cobalts C2 and its very nice indeed. There is definitely a difference in feel to just the short shifter offered by FD. My only gripe with it is that it feels a little small to me in hand.

On another note, whats up with your seats? I don't remember seeing those before. Also, no spoiler switch? Did you go RSA route?

I just drove it for the first time and you're right, I love it. It feels similar to the RS piece, but a little more weighted.
I just replaced all the bushings including the 928 ball cups. I guess you don't remember but I made my own golden rod with the brass bushings. I inspected them yesterday, zero wear and still rock solid.

What can I say? I have small hands, beside being ice cold today, it feels okay to me.
As far as the seats, I bought a set of nearly new pole positions from a 996 guy on here. They came in his newly acquired 996TT and he was too tall for them. His loss, my gain.

I've had the cubby sitting around for a few years now and like the idea of a spot for my wallet and phone. So I stuffed the spoiler switch behind the other switches, I never use it manually anyway. I also have a ducktail waiting to be painted, I'm still debating on that one.

Will you be a C&C?

Those look so goooooooooood. All these recent reupholstery jobs are just killing me with the state of my seats. Its just a matter of time until I do it, but not looking to happen very soon.

I should be going down to the tail of the dragon that weekend, but if something goes awry with the weather there I'l be at C&C
