Default 993 C4 transmission mount / bracket in 964 C4

Can anyone confirm is the 993 C4 transmission mount and bracket will work in a 964 C4?

I don't know if it will work or not, but if you broke your 964 and that's the only replacement you have found, I've got a couple 964 mounts on a shelf out in my barn...

I saw this guy in the 993 forum making billet C4 mounts for the 993. Looked great.

I don't need a mount at the moment, but I do want to change the bushing eventually to an RS type. I saw that 993 mount and had my interest.

Ah. Got it. Looks like a decent piece. Also looks like that gearbox has a broken end cover.

Looks like a poorly cleaned parting line. Although I am not sure you want a solid mount like that for street use. You will receive far more vibration into the tub than you want.

I think it has a rubber bushing, but the mount is billet.

I'm sure your eye for castings is much much better than mine.

I no longer can see the 2T hole on the x-ray films but it is something that becomes part of you. After manufacturing castings for military and aerospace work for 30 years I have a hard time with car parts the cleaning is just not on par with what I had to provide.

BTW is there a market for magnesium housings for trannys? I know why so many stay away but we just started casting aluminum based magnesium alloys using a sand method previously not employed by the industry and I have high hopes for the quality of the product. We are not seeing any of the common manufacturing issues like oxides and micro-shrinkage(porosity) so it might be a viable alternative. Is saving 1/3rd the weight over aluminum worthwhile?

I'd say any weight savings on a C4 is a bonus.

It does not appear a 993 mount will work. The plate for the 3 holes to the transmission should be flat. Looks like one of the 3 mounts on the 993 is a different height.

I am sure that made no sense.
